"So, what did the station in "2001: A Space Odyssey" supposedly use for power? Nuclear? Or did that never come up at all?"

I've watched the film 2001: A Space Odyssey, directed by Stanley Kubrick, maybe three times. I can't recall ever hearing or seeing any reference to the primary power system for Space Station Five (the gigantic double-wheel station in Earth orbit).

Nuclear power is probably the logical choice given the era and supposed huge scale of the station, which I've read was on the order of 2,000 ft. in diameter.

Arthur C. Clarke may have included some clues to the power source in his novel of the same name, but I haven't read it.
