About four months after John Bolton became America’s United Nations Ambassador, I watched him deliver a luncheon address to the Manhattan Institute.
“I wonder if he’ll throw something at the help?” I whispered to another guest.
I was joking, of course, but Bolton’s critics are not. They consider him as diplomatic as a catapult.
“He’s been a very ineffective bully,” Sen. Chris Dodd (D.-Conn.) said September 6. Sen. Barbara Boxer (D.-Calif.) recommended that Bolton seek “anger management counseling.” Other Bolton detractors recently decried his “egotistical intolerance.”
Bolton struck me as surprisingly soft-spoken on two occasions we briefly met. But even if he is a human Vesuvius on duty, he performs vital work and has earned praise from colleagues and admirers overseas. Thus, the Senate should re-confirm him for service beyond his soon-expiring recess appointment.
Rather than merely erupt at everyone around him, as his adversaries claim, Bolton brokers peace agreements, frustrates despots, fights genocide, and steers nuclear weapons from the twitchy fingers of tyrants.

Well....the same can be said for Dodd, except you need to replace the "b" and double "l" in bully with a "p" and double "s".
That GW has re-nominated him says that he will push for him, if he backs down, then it will be a major loss.

The senate will dump Mr. Bolton and replace him with a lackey who will not stand up to the U.N. for American interests.

When the Senate shoots down Bolton, I hope the Prez leaves the post vacant, then blame the rats for any problems that develop. Hey, I can dream can't I?

Personally, I'd like to see the UN dismantled, or at the very least booted out of this country. They can set up shop in Venezuela. I'm sure Chavez will welcome them.
