Agreed. Rap music is a form of programming. Music and rhythm have been used for centuries to bypass the analytical mind and go directly for the subconscious mind. Religions have always used rhythmic chanting to attain a state of spiritual openness and receptivity. Think Jews at the Wailing Wall, or monks doing Gregorian chants, or Hindus chanting a mantra.
Now, just take that property of rhythm and couple it with hateful messages that are filled with resentment toward white people, the government, school, education, and women. Mix a little entitlement mentality with a strong sense of covetous consumerism. Include a dose of drug culture and glorify the use of weapons. What you get is a pervasive and potent message that is implanted without analysis by any critical thought and programs the listener with any number of violent or criminal conditioned responses.
We give it undue credit by calling it hip-hop culture. It's a step backward towards barbarism.
