David Corn of "The Nation" was just on Fox, scolding viewers for trying to enjoy the holidays while we are at war in Iraq. Picking-up on the New York Times' latest rant, Corn glared into the camera and grimly reiterated the message from "Putz" Sulzberger and his staff of leftist trust babies: 'How dare you shop and enjoy the holidays while we are involved in a war of which we at the Times personally disapprove?'
LOL! And "Don't Tread on Me!"

David Corn? I think he passed through my system just this morning.
wow... faux allowing more leftist propaganda.... imagine that.
I believe he eats corn the long way.
Thought Neal put him in his place fairly well before sending him away...
Don't tell me. He wants us to pay higher taxes for penance right?
wow.....my giveashitometer is pegged at 0.
Excuse me while I meet my U.N. Buddies...
I'm sure he and his ilk when not living in communes in the 1960's had no problems with spending during Vietnam...Or Grenada....or Panama....or Gulf War I...
Democrat's are now in charge and EVERYONE will share the pain.
Personally, the less muslims there are, the better off the world is.
I have trouble digesting Corn
Well then, the first thing the NYTimes needs to do is to forego all those holiday advertisements so as not to encourage the masses to indulge in shopping, travel, eating out, going to shows, or other sinful and irresponsible activities.
Better yet, why don't tney suspend publication all together for the holiday season?
Excuse me but doesn't the NYT see the relationship between their retail advertisers and "Holiday Shopping"?
Is it marxist? The puritans banned Christmas for being too pagan. Were they marxist?
GMTA. We all posted the same thoughts within a minute of each other.
Corn doesn't get it; his thinking is too simplistic and emotional. The violence we're seeing in Iraq is part of the reason why Saddam's regime had to go. Saddam's regime and the Baath party were filled with violent, brutal people who brutalized the Shiites for decades. That regime had to go before it brutalized us with WMD. The Shiites are now getting payback and this has escalated into a cycle of violence, but it won't last forever. Does anyone at the NY Times remember Northern Ireland and the IRA? Those bombings went on for 20 years inside otherwise civilized Europe.
Hopefully he digests corn the same way.
lol your right
"Is it marxist? The puritans banned Christmas for being too pagan. Were they marxist?"
Shhhh. The grown-ups are talking.
That logic is too complex for the touchy-feely emotional journalism and english majors who write editorials and "news" for the Times.
Right after I read this I went on Amazon and bought something.
Dead. On. Correct.
Good 4U, you capitalist rogue...lol.
"Show me just what Mohammed brought that was new, and there you will find things only evil and inhuman, such as his command to spread by the sword the faith he preached." -Manuel II Paleologus
... yupperzzz!!
. . . there appears to be some sort of struggle inside Fox News
... its very hard for me to watch anything other than Brit
btw , what are they thinkin'[??!?] the lefties will quietly , off camera , give them the "inside poop" from Moonbat Central , and then what , Fox will "know" certain useless items [??] WTF ,...
... STOP GIVING THESE CRETINS AIRTIME
David Corn, you ignorant .... You tell my son that I refuse to shop in order to send him a Christmas care package while he is in Iraq. The last thing our troops want is for their families to skip Christmas.
David Corn disapproves of me? Please excuse me while I go slit my wrists and sit in a tub of warm water from the horrible shame.
/s
Besides, why disapprove of shopping over Thanksgiving? Why was shopping the week before ok, but now it's bad?
And...the NYT can now stop all those broadway reviews. Can't be going to shows, movies, and etc. And, shouldn't we stop shopping at bookstores...oh wait..doesn't Corn have a new book out? Nevermind.
In his case, yes it's Marxist.
So I guess though that it's OK to publish classified documents while we are at war, but Americans can't shop??? Give me a break....
When I subscribed to the Times, a number of years ago, I couldn't help noticing the cognitive dissonance between their Communist attacks on capitalism and the Style and Food sections.
Also, notice the salaries of this brave vanguard of the proletariat.
You mean the Slimes is telling its readers not to shop?
What are the editors children getting for Christmas?
(although I am quite sure they don't call it CHRISTmas)
How do you think the Slimes sponsors feel about them telling their readers not to buy stuff?
Doesn't Macy's advertise in the Slimes?
Hey, David, did you miss what happened Nov 7? Your side is in charge now. So lead, and quit sniveling.
Now that's what I want for Christmas!
Sometimes if you don't chew well, you can see pieces of Corn in your New York Times...
I'm so glad he agrees with me and seems to be beginning the penitential time of Advent for fasting and penance.
Who would have thought the NYT would agree with this Catholic?
I have to email him right now....

Hello, New York Times.
Yes, I would like to inform you that I was planning on getting my beloved mother a one year subscription to your paper. However, after watching Mr. Corn excoriate people who are purchasing gifts while there is a war underway in Iraq I have second thoughts.
After being educated by Mr. Corn I have decided to do my patriotic duty and not purchase a subscription to your paper. I now feel so much better.
David Corn doesn't care about Iraq or the people serving there. He's rooting for defeat.
"wow... faux allowing"
Wow, yet more FReepers adopting DU lingo. Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.
A story was in the NYT and Fox reported on it. Put a band-aid on it.
During all wars America has been in during my lifetime, 74 years, Thanksgiving and Christmas has always been even more special to our troops on the war front as well as to the folks on the home front. Celebrating these special days in the traditional way despite the war is bitter sweet, to those at home and to those away, but despite the miles between physically, brings them all close together in their hearts and minds.
Remember the words of the beautiful song:
I'll be home for Christmas, if only in my dreams.
Knowing the folks back home were forsaking Christmas for the duration, would be the most depressing and demoralizing thing we could do to our troops.
He went through my colon too, but with a wicked blast of methane!
LOL. Don't light a match!
The difference is that Wynand was a self-made man, little Pinch seems less than a man and is even less self-made.
