It's going to be a VERY nasty next TWO years and if FR survives, intact, I will be shocked.

Your intuition may, indeed, be correct.

Sadly,I most probhably am 100% correct.

"You misread the post. The Ban is on FEDERAL FUNDING also the other part of banning it was on creating new stem cell lines. They have hyped it up to misinform people saying that they are not allowed to use the current stem cell lines. Bogus news courtesy MSM."
No, I didn't misread the post and I understand the issue. I know the ban wasn't a total ban on the research and I totally support creating new lines. Fertility clinics throw out and destroy countless embryos everyday. Instead of throw them away, why not do stem cell research with them. At least something good may come of them. Lets be pragmatic here. As far as federal funding goes, if we can fund NASA we can fund stem cell research too.

FYI - President Reagan chose his faith long before he was married to anyone. I started re-reading "A Life In Letters" last night, and if I recall correctly, he chose his mother's faith when he was 21 or 22, long before he ever met Jane Wyman or Nancy (Reagan) Davis.
He did not in any respect choose a religion based on such religion's acceptance/condemnation of divorce.
Being divorced did not keep President Reagan from being a beloved leader, and it similarly should not disqualify Mayor Giuliani.
Moreover, President Reagan seemingly had no particular interest in social issues. He stuck to the big issues of 1) beating the Russians, 2) rebuilding the economy, and 3) restoring American pride. President Reagan left the social issues mostly to the base and his surrogates, and there is no reason to think Mayor Giuliani would do otherwise.

President Reagan was a Democrat before he defected during his time as president of S.A.G.
I tell you, the ideological/moral purity wing of the party would have shunned the greatest ambassador this party will ever know.
Mayor Giuliani's audition tape for the presidency was filmed on September 11, 2001 in Lower Manhattan. That footage showed pretty much all I need to know about the man's leadership ability, courage, and character.

I don't mean to be rude, but I don't see how my post insulted President Reagan. The facts are the facts, and I was merely pointing out a couple of facts I happened to come across in my reading.
I hold President Reagan in the highest esteem and view him as a personal hero and role model. However, I feel that the facts of his presidency speak for themselves; they do not need any embellishment.
I apologize for joining in the middle of the conversation - I wasn't aware of it until yesterday.
My point is that many of the charges you've leveled against Mayor Giuliani could have been leveled against President Reagan at one point in time.
I think we will have to agree to disagree in good faith, but I urge you to keep an open mind - there is no such thing as a perfect candidate.
