Former KLA Chief of Staff admits that the KLA did in some situations order the civilians to move out of some areas of Kosovo for reasons of safety. He described a case when the villagers of Belanica decided to stay in their homes until the arrival of the Serbian troops and police, despite the KLA orders

As his examination-in-chief drew to a close, former KLA Chief of Staff Bislim Zyrapi admitted that in some situations the KLA had ordered civilians to move out of certain areas. The defense of the six Serbian officials charged with crimes in Kosovo has been trying to prove that NATO and KLA were responsible for the exodus of the Albanian civilians, not the Serbian military and police.

Zyrapi, who was the Chief of Staff from November 1998 until April 1999, then mentioned the case of the village of Belanica near Suva Reka. The KLA had pulled out of the village right at the beginning of the NATO campaign, when the Serbian forces launched their all-out offensive in Kosovo. He says that before the KLA withdrew, he personally ordered the entire population from that village and several other villages to move to the Berisha mountains. He did so for fear of their safety. He says that many civilians chose to stay in Belanica, despite the order. Kosovo reporter Sefqet Zogaj had testified about their fate earlier in the trial. About 150 civilians were killed in the village on 1 April 1999, he testified, and all the others were forced to go to Albania.

Norman Sepenuk, representing General Dragoljub Ojdanic, tried to prove in his cross-examination that in late 1998 the KLA had been trying hard to “turn itself into a strong army”, and that the six accused had “had a lot to fear”. After the witness agreed with Ojdanic’s defense counsel on that and other suggestions, the presiding judge warned him he was trying to “break in through an open door”, telling him not to waste any more time on the issue.

As the cross-examination continued, the defense counsel tried to prove that in early 1999, the KLA had been violating the October 1998 ceasefire by attacking police convoys and checkpoints. He used a number of reports drafted by the OSCE Kosovo Verification Mission. The witness admitted that the units under his control had attacked the police, violating the ceasefire. But they did so “only when the forces obstructed the movements of the KLA”, he added.

Bislim Zyrapi’s cross-examination continues Wednesday.

So Torie, a KLA chief admits he ordered civilians (Albanian civilians) to leave at the beginning of NATO's bombing.

He said the KLA pulled out at the start of this, and just before they did, the KLA ordered the civilians out.

You're the eternal optimist, Joan, a trait that is to be admired: in this case you're expecting a rational response from Torie. Torie's too busy comparing an anti terrorist campaign against Al Qaeda linked terror groups with the Holocaust.

Not only is Torie a moral equivalence advocate , after all he demeaned the suffering of the Jews in WW2 to essential meaninglessness , he also takes the side of Islamic funded terrorists against Infidels.

And he dares post on a conservative forum.
The f+++++g nerve.

On reflection, Torie sounds like Pissed-Up-Brit. Ignorant: Proud: and proud of his ignorance.

Torie isn't a Brit, he's a Californian, but I guess he is interested in British politics or something is why he chose that screen name. I think his ancestors were from there.

Torie liked to read the books of Balkan "experts" who pushed the mainstream agenda - those authors who suddenly started writing on the Balkans when the wars started (and wrote no Balkans books before). One of Torie's favorites is Noel Malcolm. The books rather enhanced his being brainwashed because he is geared to the belief that U.S. foreign policy is essentially very moral and right, and had no agenda or ulterior motives in the Balkans, and that people like Madeleine Albright are automatically good because they were/are at the helm of power. So the books were kind of an affirmation of what he wanted to believe and he wouldn't allow himself to believe otherwise.

Torie is in a way Hoplite's sidekick when he posts on the Balkan forums. You can just see the adoration Torie has for Hoplite, his hero of the Balkan forums, and such a force against the "wolf pack" - which is what Torie has called us pro-Serb Freepers. Torie was furious with me once when I dared say something about Hoplite's jackbooted thug mentality towards Serbs. Usually he never displays a temper, but when you insult the great insulter Hoplite himself in front of Torie, it can quite anger him.

They are both a lot a like in that they will support and justify anything the U.S. does in the Balkans, and especially if it is anti-Serb.

My God, they sound thick.

Torie, Hoplite, you sound like inbreeds.

Are you inbred?

A serious question, with serious repercussions.

We demand answers, Hoplite and Torie ( aka "the inbreed" )

"ARE YOU" { drum roll ) "INBRED" ?

"Torie is in a way Hoplite's sidekick"

A damning indictment. I rest my case , though I pray Torie's mother is never told of this , save for her sanity.

We also suspect that KLA ordered the Albanian civilians to stay in Rajak, while they fired on the Serbs, thus provoking a response. The Serbs, oh yes...opened up killing about 9 KLA members that were later removed. The KLA then blocked any international visits, for a period of time, long story short, so that the bodies could be positioned in the gully to simulate a massacre. The injuries are not that of people being shot....the injuries are that of people being caught in "incoming".....

OSCE reports in one demonstration, in Kamenica around 2000 or so, or early 2001, reported that at the end of the day, 1600 hours or so, the Albanians that were "participating" started going home...showing little enthusiasm, was leaving the Demonstration. The OSCE observers described young, strongly build men in the outer fringes of the demonstration pushing folks back in not allowing them to leave........they were also wearing red bands on their arms........:) oh yes.

Joan this is an important development. As I have always maintained the KLA are masters of manipulation as was the case at Racak where the KLA painted a massacre for the world. Well the KLA painted a case of ethnic cleansing against the Serbs by forcing the Albanian population to evacuate. I believe these forced evacuations were implemented all over Kosovo for the purpose of obtaining world public support which succeeded. Ordered to leave but they stayed. Wonder how many more LDK supporters were martyred for the cause.....

So true , prosecution witnesses spoke of the KLA enslaving ( for want of a better word ) local ethnic albanians into their mule gangs....

they'd be used to transport ammo , food , etc between lawless northern albania and kosovo...

it's funny , all those supposed albanian NATIONALISTS living abroad who , they tell us , give a crap about the rights of ethnic albanians living in kosovo/Serbia yet stay quiet when ethnic albs are used as mules and cannon fodder for the kla......'s almost as if you don't give a crap

i put it down to the che guevara complex...namely a supposed "freedom figther" decked out in fatigues , etc , with an existentialist pose , a cig in the gob and a nihilistic viewpoint......

the kla are worthy answers...after all they incorportate maoism into their belifs ( que thaqi ) plus nazism ( que the old timers who wish to inherit the skanderbeg ss div heritige ).... plus drug dealers ( nihilism personified ) plus the mujahideen ( their extreme version of the muslim brotherhood , who are the mujahideen but with a new trendy name , would outrage even the most hard lime of muslims )....

the kla answer anyone and or everyone's hatred of western beliefs....

NATO is such a supporter.....after all , many of their political leaders were , in true NEO con style , trendy lefties at university......

read some of the spectator's ( a uk published mag ) account of respect's conference where "gorgeous" george gallaway lists all his ( once ) trotskist friends who'd since become cabinet members in blairs gov't....

priceless....really beyond belief....

swanning around in their chauffeur driven jags whilst their kid went to the best schools , yet , touchingly , they stayed true to their TROTSKIST beliefs.......

ahh , almost makes you want to puke.....

I can only imagine. I've read some of these lynchings in Kosovo and it's positively prehistoric. Apologies to any Tyrannosaurus rex.
