How much was Reagan to blame for his midterm losses. Get over it. The Prez is the ONLY good thing about the GOP right now. Has been that way for some time.

Is it too early to say that the blame for this loss rests squarely with President Bush and the “Bushbots”?

Is it too early to say that the blame for this loss rests squarely with the Bush Haters, of which you are a member in good standing?

Anybody ever thought that it was a combination of all? Some folks better start thinking that rather than start hammering at each other and calling names.

There are two groups to blame for this:

1) The corrupt bunch of schmucks that got too comfortable in office, not realizing that it's different for a corrupt republican than it is for a corrupt democrat.

2) The media. They pulled out all the stops this election and they beat us.

Profligate spending and growth of government = disaster for Republicans. Case closed.

The President will have to stand firm, get out his veto pen and be prepared to do battle with congress on a daily basis. They'll be relentless.

People don't go to the polls because the economy is good--they go to the polls because the economy is bad.

Bush is the best thing the Republican party has going for it. Don't quit yer day job expecting any election analysis offers to come in.

Agreed - c'mon folks, this was an across-the-board whoopin'

It was anti-Republican - conserv, mod, lib, neo, christian, fiscal, social, whatever...

Don't let FR devolve into a cesspool of hatred and finger-pointing. Plenty of blame and defeat to go around.

Out of our 'own', I blame the 'teach them a lesson' crowd.

Who was it that kept saying they were going to sit it out to "punish" Bush and the Republicans? It certainly wasn't your so-called "Bushbots", an incredibly insulting name that implies that no one who thinks for themselves could possibly agree with the President. Any "conservatives" who sat on their hands this election have only themselves to blame for the Democrat victory.

and now with the Democrats running the show you are going to see an amnesty bill forwarded and Bush will sign it with a smile as a “great example of bipartisan leadership”.

And it's all because YOU and YOUR ILK wouldn't budge ONE INCH on ANY bill that didn't involve immediate deportation.

Don't try to blame this on Bush; you unappeasables always have believed it's your way or the highway; you never understood that after 40 years of liberals running the government, it was gonna take some time to get things back on the right road.

Now you're made your bed by continually trashing that man for six years.

The Democratic National Party thanks you for your work on their behalf?

This loss is to blame on only the republicans whom wanted to punish the gop by staying home or voting third party. I blame the conservatives that constantly slammed the gop because their pet project wwas not handled how the ywanted it, such as Michelle Malkin, Rich Lowery, Michael Savage, Bill Kristol, etc. They let us down and now we will have to deal with a Pelosi house and most likely a Reid senate. I hope you all have the extra money to spend on taxes now, I do not. Terrorism will flourish because the donks will cut off the spending for the wars in Iraq and Afghanistanm like they did Vietnam.

Show me the evidence that the Democrats (!) won tonight because Bush and the Republicans spend too much.

People tossed them out for overspending and put the Democrats in charge? Or are you going to say Republicans stayed away...except they didn't?
