"I heard today that the SCOTUS will be hearing the case on partial-birth abortion this week!! It will be the first time they will be hearing a case with the two Bush appointees....everyone PRAY that they come down on the side to outlaw them forever!"

I heard that, too! You are so right, Sleuth (as usual) we all need to PRAY hard. They have to come down on the right (no pun intended) side - this has to be defeated!

Watergate killed journalism. The perps, Woodward and Bernstein, are STILL AT LARGE.

You are, unfortunately, so right Rod. Pubbies don't care about the color of someone's skin - they care about their positions, vision, and values. Dims CLAIM they are for the downtrodden and Blacks, but, au contraire, only when the person fits what they want and when they want them. They've not allowed the Atlanta Mayor to run (for Speaker IIRC), they supported Cardin over M'Fume (it's great that his son is supporting Steele), and on and on. I think that some of the Blacks are starting to wise up to their antics (see the comments Curry and the Dem Pastors made when they supported Steele). Dims take the Black vote and everything else for granted. They eat, chew up, and spit out people on whim, if they don't support what they want or aren't who they want. The cartoons about Condi were truly despicable - a Pubbie NEVER would have even thought of putting out such trash and then they throw Oreos at Steele- -disgusting. Yet, they are the party of the little people and "I feel your pain". Puhleeeeeese! I just hope they wake up and smell the roses soon! Sorry - this just got my blood boiling - /rant off.

Okay!!

I am officially TICKED OFF at Brit....he has gone out of his WAY to denote all of the "bad things" about the GOP!!

Dang, even Juan had to admit that the people that are saying that the Dems would be better on taxes are CRAZY...but, ole Brit, just humming along picking the scabs off of the almost healed scandals....ugh

I understand your feelings. Still, wait. We'll know after Tuesday whether Brit was right or wrong. I have to admit, it has been great working this week and not being able to follow it all in the media. The media has been wrong too often for me to take their word for anything yet.

I was shocked and depressed at the tone of FNS 'all-star' panel today (I saw it this morning). Ruined my day.

The one who I have come to really really despise is Larry Sabato. The mask is off and he is blatantly on the left. No longer pretending to be an objective observer but clearly working for the dems.

Nothing will please me more than to see him eating his words.

The dems are going to move to cut funding for the WOT. They want to spend the money on health care and education.

Whatever that means. Most likely it will be more of the same old useless wasteful money thrown to certain constituent groups. Leaving America vulnerable to further attack.

I am willing to wait the 48 hours until the elections are officially over, I now predict that they will not take either house.

Rumsfeld...He needs to save some of the old power to keep all our options open.

I have kept my comments regarding the specific strategic/tactical aspects of the GWOT to a minimum, since my fairly recent involvement with FR. But that is not to say that I haven't read with interest the many outstanding thoughts on this subject posted by you and others. Today is no exception.

I personally don't want to discuss specifics until Nov. 8th's results and their immediate implications are known. The Bush Administration and its supporters in the Congress have been the only game in town for those of us who have advocated -for decades- that widespread, and exceedingly violent military/naval activity must be initiated against certain elements in the Middle East. And I have felt that publicly criticizing the current effort would be used by the Left to weaken the nation's resolve. Obviously, I detest the actions of officers cut from the same bolt of cloth as Wesley Clark etc..

However, I will say that I wrote the President in Feb. 2002 to essentially state that the country must be got up onto a war footing, or we would surely suffer the same catastrophic division as evidenced in the Vietnam era. For reasons that must have been all too clear to realistic political operators like Dubya and Rumsfeld, my advice -as expected- was politely rejected. I was also informed by my Legislators, at the same time, that all was well with the approach to the GWOT.

If Tuesday's results lead to a retreat from the present, measured approach to the problem- it will be the handiwork of a public whose majority is incapable of seeing the grave danger at hand. Consequently, the ultimate and massive confrontation will only be postponed to a time when the enemy has become stronger and possibly even more successful in striking the US. I regard the next two years, beginning Tuesday morning and ending sometime on the night of Tuesday 11/4/'08, as potentially the most fateful of my time as an American.

As a teenager in 1962, I remember the pride afoot in this country when an American President stood up to a General Secretary of the Communist Party of a Soviet Union since made defunct largely by the great leadership of Republicans in the 1980's. So, it does seem fair to point out that we've always, as a nation, recovered in the nick of time when things became dicey in the past. Nevertheless, I'll be on the edge of my seat this Tuesday night.

It looked like to me that someone had said something to Wallace about his L/W/bias. He"appeared" he was trying to go after both parties but is still don't trust him at all.

Brilliant post.
I think the leaders say all and have complete power in the DNC/rat menagerie of animals. If they don't want a particular person in a particular race or whatever it won't happen.IF they protest, remember hillary's lawyer, They are the utmost political power mongers there are IMHO.

You are right about Steele. I did watch him tonite on the FOX rerun and all I could think was how smart and informed he is. His direct approach in answering Wallace was so refreshing and at the same time he kept himself from being snookered into a 'gotcha' situation. Go Steele!

The Dems of our time run the military like the Glorious Soviet Socialist Republic once did. With *political" officers at every command level,

You have uncovered the Dems strategy that they don't dare talk about. It's Bubba all over again.

Let the next adm. handle it.

They always play pass the buck, pass the hot potato. Problem is we have no reason to think that they would not go French on us when the terrorists start lighting cars and bombs over here which could happen whether we care to think about it or not.

I am not assuming anything. I am mighty disappointed in the leftward tilt taken by FNC. I hardly watch them anymore. Just channel surf in the evening and usually watch Glenn Beck if I watch anything.

Scarborough and Olberwomann are two peas in a pod. Matthews is revolting.

Pretty pathetic.

There are lots of masks slipping, Sabato, Jon Carry, Chris Matthews (some time ago), Colin Powell...it's a really long list.
