If anyone thinks a veteran would criticize the more than 140,000 heroes serving in Iraq and not the president who got us stuck there, they're crazy. This is the classic G.O.P. playbook. Im sick and tired of these despicable Republican attacks that always seem to come from those who never can be found to serve in war, but love to attack those who did.

Nowhere in this insane rant does he defend his statement. He just defends his right not to be criticized because he served. Just like Murtha, M J Fox, etc. can't be criticized. Rush actually does know these people better than they know themselves.

There's nothing more angry than a "man" with his foot stuck in his mouth.
By the way, isn't Kerry doing what he and the Dems. accuse Bush of doing in putting himself above criticism, doing so in his case because he served in the military? If they can reserve the right to attack a war time commander in chief, then we can reserve the right to call to task a guy who served 30 years ago who insults our military men and women in the here and now. You don't get some sort of sacred immunity Kerry because of who you think you are, any more than you allow the Commander in Chief immunity from criticism in a time of national danger.

classic G.O.P. playbook
these despicable Republican attacks
those who never can be found to serve in war, but love to attack those who did
misled America into war
a Katrina foreign policy
betrayed our ideals
widened the terrorist threat instead of defeating it
Administration that sent our brave troops to war without body armor
Republicans want to debate straw men because theyre afraid to debate real men
an administration that has a cut and run policy in Afghanistan and a stand still and lose strategy in Iraq.

personally, I'd like to slap him silly for 1) the original statement, and 2) the last quote I pulled from the story.
He's obviously playing to the moonbats for the 08 nod.

What a sorry excuse Kerry is for a United States Senator. He defames our troops and then tries to blame his words on someone else.Just when I think this despicable excuse for a human being can't stoop any lower, he does.

I think what he was implying was Bush was not smart and ended up in Iraq. Unfortunately for him and good for us he did not fill out the statement and it came out as an insult to the people in the armed forces.

How does Boston's village idiot think he can get away with this? HE is on tape saying it, and Rush, Tony Snow and George Bush didn't make him say it. (I'm not quite ruling out Karl Rove yet).
HE attacks the best educated troops in US history and spins it into an attack on troops by the Republicans?
The man(?) is beneath contempt.
