'Today': Wave Of Iraqi Violence Attempt To Influence US Elections
Today Show/NewsBusters ^

Posted on 10/19/2006 5:17:11 AM PDT by governsleastgovernsbest
There was a stunning bit of candor from NBC reporter Richard Engel at the end of his report on this morning's 'Today' on the situation in Iraq:
Speaking with US soliders, Engel reported:
"They believe insurgents are intensifying attacks against US soldiers to influence November's mid-term elections."
Shouldn't it give Americans pause to consider that in the eyes of our men on the ground, our enemy wants to see the Democrats take power?
Perhaps George Soros will sponsor a new MTV series: 'Rocket-Grenade The Vote'.

Isn't it interesting that the terrorists want the Democrats to be elected. Perhaps the MSM should do a story on that....ya..sure.

The enemies take notice of our dinosaur media...and use it to their advantage. CNN has an insurgent video out, hsowing how snipers are teargeting our troops. Of course they say "although the nature of the video is disturbing, we feel it must be shown". Honestly, sometimes I don't think they have a brain in their head.

The DNC's GOTV campaign is getting a boost from Islamic terrorists? I guess this how the terrorists show gratitude for Pelosi's, Reid's, and Murtha's "Retreat in Defeat" initiative.
That's one group the Republicans would never accept help from. I guess the Democratic Party truly has the bigger tent.

Well, just *stop* it!!
"Thinking" is one of the proscribed activities while watching MSM "News".
Your proper role is to mindlessly accept the predigested opinion-masquerading-as-news, and then dutifully go vote Democrat.

The troops are far more savvy than many people realize. War is always about politics. But some people, mostly Democrats, think it's always about other things, like poverty or Gay Rights or something else is motivating our enemies.
Just as we want a stable and preferably free and democratic Iraq for political reasons, the "insurgents" want chaos now for political reasons. The illusion of a civil war is propaganda by deed that the toppling of Saddam was a failure. So in an impotent rage they murder civilians in mass numbers and get the attention from the MSM to spread their image of ruthless success. These evil plotters know Americans are historically impatient. They know many Americans buy into the myth that insurgencies cannot be defeated, fed by wrong-headed readings of the American Revolution and the Vietnam War. They also know isolationism is a strong if latent elixir that Americans like to fall back on when things become difficult. They don't know how bullheaded George W. Bush is.

One thing the socialists in this country have with the terrorists is they both seek the destruction of Democracy. The difference is the terrorists wish to do so with violence while the socialists want to do it through the political process.

"They believe insurgents are intensifying attacks against US soldiers to influence November's mid-term elections." Our brave men and women on the ground know the score:
DemocRAT win 7 Nov = Victory for terrorists
It's up to us to see to it that never comes to pass.
We owe it to our men and women in uniform...past, present and future.

So the media admit the terrorists want to elect Democrats! And with this in mind, a majority of Americans, if you believe polls, are inclined to go along. I sometimes wonder if this country isn't all through.

I have to be honest, I was really getting frustrated with all the "polls" showing a huge sudden shift to the RATs, but the more I learned about these so called "polls" the more I realized it is all part of the DBM wing of the DNC's all out push to get the RATs back in power.
It is my firm belief that Americans in general are no where near as dumb and gullible as the RATs want to believe.
All we can do is our part and get out and vote and make sure we prove these lying, sniveling $%$#$#s wrong!

CNN just reported the same. I guess since the MSM wants to help the terrorist influence the elections and try to make this into another Vietnam, which it's not, the only option anyone really has is to stay away from the companies that advertise with them.

Shouldn't it give Americans pause to consider that in the eyes of our men on the ground, our enemy wants to see the Democrats take power? Hope this wasn't a signal for Democrats to try and mess with military absentee votes like they did in '00 and '04!

IMHO I feel that all the dems and conservatives for dems have aided the terrorists with their talk of our Nation being in poor shape IE: economy; housing market; budget; etc.
The terrorists feel that if they kill more and more, the people of America will elect the dems and conservatives for dems and help them to get us out of Iraq and Afghanistan.

This was entirely predictable, and I suspect the U.S. military leadership anticipated a upswing in U.S. casualties in the weeks leading up to November election.

Did the reporters discuss the soldiers accusation?
The record clearly shows the enemy increase their attacks when we have an election campaign.
They do so to affect our elections.
Us Casualties (combined wounded and killed) in Iraq compared for election and off-election years:
Aug-03 216 Sep-03 278 Oct-03 457 Nov-03 418

No, Engel and the hosts back in the studio let the soldiers' comments stand. I'd say that amounted to tacit consent. Pretty stunning.

Kinda like in the army.
Trainee: "But I thought..."
Drill Sergeant: "You ain't paid to think. Drop and give me 20."

Okay...the terrorists have TOLD us they are going to go after Americans...and they are very savvy to our elections..
NOW, I consider ANY of the Americans that have died, and will die in Iraq and Afghanistan up till now and until election day....(this election season)...to be partly the fault of the DEMS AND RINOS!!!!
IF, we had a UNITED country and Congress behind the war, and the GOAL of WINNING....they wouldn't be able to USE the deaths of our troops to sway the voters...
But, instead NO>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>...
