Harry Reid says: I believe in ensuring all facts come to light.
However, two years after $1.1 million was paid directly to Reid for the sale of land which he no longer personally owned, he announced he was amending his ethics reports to Congress to more fully account for the Las Vegas land deal, which was reported last week in a story by the AP. [After initially refusing to discuss the matter - Reid reportedly hung up on the AP reporter when asked about it - he has since offered to amend his financial disclosures link]
Reid labeled the AP story as the latest attempt by Republicans to affect the election. AP reported last week that it learned of the land deal from a former Reid adviser who had concerns about the way the deal was reported to Congress. Link
Interestingly enough, according to a report from Nathan Burchfiel, Since the story broke, the Washington Post has mentioned it three times: once in story about the scandal on Oct. 12 and in an unrelated article and an editorial on Oct. 13. The New York Times has mentioned the scandal once in an article on Oct. 12.
During the same time period, the papers have mentioned Foley 37 and 28 times, respectively.

The left really has a way of phrasing things, don't they? Up is down and telling the truth is a smear.
he gotta go.
Reid is a poster boy for that Democrat "culture of corruption".
You're a corrupt, hypocritical POS Dim who should resign immediately.
Corrupt Republicans = Apologize, resign, face the music
Corrupt Democrats = Lie, deny, obfuscate, blame Republicans, remain in office, get treated as a hero
Not "Reportedly hung up on the AP reporter", there is a tape of it, so it is fact.
Dear Mr. Reid:
This is the way it works. When you start tossing crap around you shouldnt be surprised when some gets tossed back at you.
Sir: You are a crook. I cannot rob a bank and return the money if I get caught. What makes you think that filing after you get caught is proper. It isnt.
People in glass houses shouldnt throw stones, and you sir and your democratic cronies have been caught with a pocketfull of rocks.
Isn't it interesting how all a Democrat has to do is say, "Sorry, made a mistake" and it just goes away...if it even came up in the first place. What's hilarious is how the MSM can actually deny--with a straight face no less--there is a liberal bias to their "journalism".
In the old Soviet Union that "journalism" would be referred to as "propaganda" and would have been pedalled by Prava and TASS.
thanks, heh
Yes, the Republicans held a gun to Reid's head and forced him to make millions in a shady real estate deal. Sure thing.
Reid sings on YouTube -- http://youtube.com/watch?v=yqMoe7u7Qdc
An interesting point a Freeper made is that since verbal contracts are considered valid in Nevada, he never transferred the property to Brown. Therefore, the scandal will go on.
Yes, that is very interesting.
Well bj can smear anyone he wants, whats wrong with us smearing one of them?
Oh yes....now how could I have forgotten....they are libs and CAN'T be smeared.....how silly of me to forget that....
I cannot believe he wasn't struck dead by lightning when he said that.
I don't know who is more ridiculous sounding, the Dem pols or the DEM cheerleaders...
On Hannity and Colmes tonight...they had a panel with Bob Beckel on it..
One of the topics was the remark that Steny Hoyer made about Michael Steele "slavishly" doing something...
First, Alan Colmes was just verklempt that anyone would make a big deal about that...even if Steele IS black.
But then....Beckel said that it IS ridiculous because "Hoyer has done more in his life for black people than Steele would ever do"....
Just think about that a second.....
Just more Liberal/Democrat hypocrisy rising above the dung....P.H.D.
Did Pelosi know about this? She too must go!
Shades of macaca!
Hey everyone, this link needs posting, but I'm not much of a poster.

It gives the background of now jailbird Erin Kenny, the commissioner endorsed by Reid to run for lt. Gov. in 2002. She and Dario Herrera (another jailbird commissioner, Reid had him run for congress), both voted on Reid's land deal for rezoning. This is all in the 2002 timeframe.
What it looks like is either Reid bribed Kenny and Herrera with money, or bribed them with elevated political positions, to vote for his rezone.
REID MUST GO!
OMG! That's an outrageous statement.
I just detest how all Republican African Americans are portrayed as Uncle Toms. Disgusting.
See you tomorrow.
Thanks.
Did Reid get any tax documents when he sold/transferred the land? How did he do his taxes for that year.
Reid is DISGUSTING!!
"Did Reid get any tax documents when he sold/transferred the land? How did he do his taxes for that year."
I don't think he reported anything, but I'm not sure. But that ties him into a lie, doesn't it.
I wonder if he made his '04 tax filing public.
He's gotten away with it so long (clear back to his tenure on the Nevada Gaming Commission) that he's become careless and smug.
Meanwhile, the FBI is going to be questioning every stinking page that has been through the program for the last 14 years.
As far as I'm concerned this is the worst kind of corruption a government official can engage in. Not only are they immune to the rotten law they wrote that applies to the rest of us , but they profit from it! They are thereby encouraged to make even worse laws in the future for the same evil reasons. It's absolute poison to the functioning of a nation and the perpetrators should be nailed HARD against the wall! It's equal to treason!
I had the sound down at the time and missed most of that segment... what happened that got Beckel and Sean really going at it? (I think Alan got in the fray as well)...looked really heated.
It would be curious how you do tax numbers and profit on this deal. I'd be hiring a very good tax guy at this point to correct everything and pay off IRS quickly. Whatever profit this guy made...is gone.

awfully long, and the meat for Harry Reid is hard to pick, but I'll put it up...
The whole thing was heated, because of all of the stuff that has come out against Reid is ignored by the DEMs....and yet, when Foley's came to light, he resigned, and the rest of the GOP said good riddance...
They also talked about the Michael Steele/Steny Hoyer thing...
I could NOT believe I heard what Beckel said...and there was actually a very obvious sound of silence from the rest of the people right after he said it...I am assuming to give him time to rephrase it or something...but he didn't!!!
Of course, when he first came on, he said that it is SO in the bag for the Dems regaining the House and probably the Senate, that THAT is the reason they are "going after" Reid.
~LOL~ thinking the GOP is going after Reid, if they are it's sure been quiet. Unless a person knew what to listen for it would fly right by in all the Foley coverage.
Thanks for the ping!
He certainly didn't show any towards Michael Steele...but, I have to tell you,...I am really surprised at how MEAN democrats are to black Republicans...
UNLESS, it is Colin Powell AFTER he leaves the Bush White House, and starts saying negative things about it...THEN, he is okay.
AND, now they are doing the same thing to gays...the party that is all about giving gays the right to marry, and civil rights...blah, blah, blah..
And YET, to watch their reaction, not to Foley's IMS...but to his outing, and now trying to "out" Larry Craig..who ISN'T charged with going after young pages...
You will KNOW that they are just as hypocritical about their feelings for gay people, as they have for black people...
And yet....I betcha both groups overwhelmingly vote DEM.
He really looks like he is worn out.
