FBI Raids Homes of Cong. Weldon's Daughter and a Political Ally

The FBI raided the homes of Rep. Curt Weldon's daughter and a close friend on Monday as it investigates whether the congressman improperly helped the pair win lobbying and consulting contracts.

Agents searched four locations in the Philadelphia area and two in Jacksonville, Fla., said Debbie Weierman, an FBI spokeswoman in Washington, DC.

The congressman's home and his offices were not among the locations searched, she said.

Earlier Monday, Weldon (in file photo at right) called the investigation politically motivated and called the timing suspect. A Republican locked in a tight re-election bid (see related story), he denied wrongdoing and said he gave his daughter no special help.

"What I find ironic, if there is an investigation, is that no one would tell me until three weeks before the election," Weldon said at an appearance in Media, Pa. "This incident was 2½ years ago."

Weierman confirmed that the six raids included Karen Weldon's home on Queen Street in South Philadelphia (photo above); the Springfield (Delaware County) home of Charles Sexton, her business partner and the congressman's close friend and political associate; and the office of their company, Solutions North America, in Media.

A sure sign there is an election approaching and somebody doesn't have a steadfast political agenda that's appealing to their district.

Yup...this investigation was supposedly closed with no finding of wrongdoing 2 years ago.

That will teach him to keep talking about Able Danger and other botched intelligence programs by the FBI/CIA/DIA.

This makes it even stranger - that Murtha's role with his brother receiving Military Contracts that haven't been investigated...

"Murtha's ties to his brother's lobbying firm are once again coming under scrutiny. Some 10 companies with ties to KSA Consulting, a lobbying firm where Murtha's brother Robert is a senior partner, got $20.8 million in defense contracts. The Los Angeles Times in June reported that the funding was passed as part of the Pentagon's overall $417 billion spending bill."

Perhaps AFTER the sonuvabitch is reelected?

The FBI is still working for the clintons. Bush has screwed up BIG TIME by not even trying to clean out the agency. His chosen director, Mueller, is a hopeless nitwit or a traitor, I'm not sure which.

Yes, this is payback for Able Danger. No doubt about it.

This is all too convenient this close to an election. I hope the voters see through this!

Exactly. The criminal scum of Washington can stand the light of day that ABLE DANGER cast on them....exposed like the rats they are. 9/11 could have been prevented, and the revelations of ABLE DANGER proved it....along with alot of other known facts. I wonder if Curt W. has been invited to any of Clinton's parties lately??

And his opponent is some handpicked Dem military meat puppet. Some Clinton stooge, a Kosovo era general much like Wesley Clark, IIRC.

Cicero: The FBI is still working for the clintons.

You've got that right!

fantom: Pay Back for Able Danger No Doubt.
Cicero: Yes, this is payback for Able Danger.

Agree in spirit, but I think it's just as much, if not more so, prevention/protection as it is pay back. The clintons are very unhappy (they need "worry" about nothing, Arkancides take care of that) with what Congressman Weldon is investigating. Now, beyond $$$$$$$$$ to Sestak (sorry, but I can't help thinking ), they're using the FBI to destroy personal lives.

W is just way too "go along to get along" when it comes to the Clintons and their entrenched bureaucratic cronies.

He will get an apology, right after the election if he wins. If he loses he cant hurt the FBI so he will get nothing.

I don't know that it's "go along to get along", but something isn't right. However, I haven't noticed the pairing of GHWB and Bill as much as in the past. President Bush has endless class; I suspect that he is simply being polite. There are times I wish he were more aggressive, but then, he outclasses me.  Image hosted by TinyPic.com

How come they did not raid the home of Wilson since his wife got him the contract to go to Africa and lie about Saddam's quest for Nuke material? She violated the FAR (Federal Acquisition Regulations) by giving a sole source contract to a relative.
