Western position in nuclear dispute getting weaker - Ahmadinejad

Tehran - Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said Wednesday that the Western position in the nuclear dispute is getting weaker.

'The Western position against us is day by day getting weaker while ours is getting stronger,' Ahmadinejad said in a speech in the city of Shahriar, west of the capital Tehran.

'The West is getting unstable in its decisions. One day they threaten us, the other day they come with a smile,' the Iranian president said in the speech carried live by the news network Khabar.

Ahmadinejad reiterated that Iran's nuclear programmes would continue despite all pressures and intimidation, but stressed that all projects were solely for civil purposes in the fields of energy, medicine and agriculture.

He added that Iran has presented the West with a 'scientific and logical' proposal for settling the nuclear dispute, but criticized the West for insisting on uranium enrichment suspension.

'Since the presidential elections (last June) we changed our nuclear policies and not only opened the uranium conversion plant in Isfahan (central Iran) but also afterwards the uranium enrichment plant in Natanz,' Ahmadinejad said.

'Since March (this year) we have succeeded to enrich uranium at a level of 3.5 to 5 per cent and will continue this until achieving our own nuclear fuel cycle,' the president added.

He called on the Western world to change its 27-year approach towards the Iranian nation 'and change hostility with friendship.'

Ahmadinejad further claimed that the war in Lebanon was launched as a prologue for putting pressure on Iran to make the country give up its nuclear programmes but the plan failed due to the resistance of the Lebanese militia group Hezbollah.

Well, since the West is so feeble, maybe we should just blow the bugger up.

Meanwhile, NKorea is threatening Japan (for sanctions against NK) which has the potential for bombing US on Japan's soil, which is then an act of war.

President Bush is right, however; must do the diplomatic talks first.

Sometimes, I think folks forget that this situation resembles a hostage situation in which sometimes ya have to send over the pizza to the thug holding innocents hostage. And, it can take time.

News from recent hostage situations was new, strange and partly incredible. News in Europe is sometimes indecipherable for most of us...so far. But if we continue to follow Europe's wisdom, those of us remaining will be able to read it just fine.

I hate to admit it, but he's right. Bush has cried wolf too many times and then he never does anything about it.

The lower the price of crude, the weaker the Iranian position gets. And the trend is down for crude
