I bet he could get elected to the City Council of New York, Boston, or San Francisco.

Even Mayor?

I say we bill him for the extradition. Not just for the plane fare, but all the manhours it took to get him over here.

Bill him because he was forced to come back and face an evidence-less prosecution? They should have just warned the authorities in Thailand...

He would never have been extradited had it not been for his false confession in the Ramsey murder. His false confession was what got him out of a Thai jail and back into the US. I guess he figured it was worth risking prosecution on the old child porn charges in CA, as opposed to rotting in a jail in Thailand. It was most likely luck of the draw that the evidence disappeared. My beef is that he made the false confession in the first place.

I agree that he should be charged for all of the expense of returning him, when he lied to authorities.

Personally, I think he is a walking dead man out on the street. Someone is going to take their vengeance out on him.

People make false confessions all the time, though. It's not an uncommon phenomena at all. The only reason we heard about this one is because the victim was so well known. That's no excuse to extradite a person without any evidence. And why would he be rotting in a jail in Thailand - I haven't heard of any charges pending against him over there.

I recall from the news broadcasts about him in August that he had been arrested in Thailand on sex charges, for some legal violations over there - but they never said what exactly they were.

The media reports that he had been arrested on sex charges in Thailand were proved to be false. He was only held by the Thai after they ordered him returned to America on an ICE request.
The Thai simply wanted him to leave, based on the serious nature of the American charges.

I stand corrected, thanks.
