Is anyone the least bit surprised that the New York Slimes would lead with such a story?!? What, didn't they have any classified memos or troop movements to leak today?

I just saw it on Drudge. The first thing I noticed was the exclamation point after the headline. They are ecstatic at the possibility. No bias there. uh-uh.

Wow, what a surprise, the "objective" DBM whores at the NY Times working overtime to improve electoral prospects for the 'Rats. My impression over the past two months is that the Senate is rather less "in play" for a potential majority of Demagogues than at any time in the past year..... so of course with 7 weeks until the election the Slimes must be eager to create an illusion of momentum toward the Demagogues. Same old tired pathetic playbook.........

Yup. Everybody wants to be with the winners, so the NYT has to give the appearance that the Dems are winning so that their base won't stay home in November.

Well that does it. I'm so discouraged that I'm staying home on election day. : )

The NYT isn't - and won't - be alone in their not-so-private crusade (opps, didn't mean to use that word... I hope didn't offend any muzzies) against anything and everything directly or indirectly linking to the Republicans. The fact that we are at war, and a global war at that, is a moot point in their feabile little liberal minds.

If that headline doesn't scare the crap out of any sane people in this country I don't know what would.
Montana, Tennessee, Missouri, Pennsylvania and Virginia will all see higher conservative turnout if these state elections are nationalized into being about control of the Senate.
Go NYT, shout your biased message from the mountaintops!

The NYT's is leading a momentum build for Dem prospects, truthful or not, in its paper. I'm shocked! LOL
I'm sorry. I just cracked up when I saw this. And Drudge apparently thinks this is news. I wonder if he sees the humor in it as newsworthy?
Well, at least this is slightly more realistic. The Senate has always been at greater risk. Yes, we've been mad at the President. Mainly about immigration. Yes, we've been mad at the House from time to time. But there is only ONE legislative body, well two but the Judiciary doesn't get a direct vote, that has consumed our ire on multiple seemingly endless fronts. Thanks to those like Senator McCain.
But I still don't believe the Dems are taking a sweep of the seats. Angry? Sure. But they aren't taking Tenn, Virginia, Missouri, I have doubts even about Montana.

Another example of the leftist media printing a leftist view of the world as they wish it were - and calling it news.
The good news is that since this the NYTwerps are so desperate as to print this, it is almost certain to be the opposite that is true.
They should change their motto to "all the news that fits the left's warped view of the world."

SENATE 2006 PREDICTIONS- September 2006 Update I'll update these during the week, and post a new thread on Sun, Oct 1. Things have gotten worse for DeWine and Burns and Tester, and improved for Santorum, Steele, Kean and Bouchard in my viewpoint.
Here are my views at present:
Likely Democrat
Minnesota(D), Washington(D)
Lean Democrat
Ohio(R), Pennsylvania(R), Michigan(D)
Toss Up
Montana(R), Maryland(D), Rhode Island(r)
Lean Republican
Missouri(R), New Jersey(D), Tennessee(R)
Likely Republican
Virginia(R)
Safe Republican (all R) [8+ 40 Carryover= 48 seats]
Arizona, Nevada, Indiana, Maine, Mississippi, Texas, Utah, Wyoming
I see even to -2 as the most likely scenario

How do you figure?
The D's would have to beat EVERY vulnerable R and lose NONE of their vulnerable seats.
That's just not gonna happen.
They have some room to spare in the house, they have to shoot the moon to win the Senate.

Working at the GOP booth at the local county fair I encountered angry Republicans bad mouthing President Bush and the GOP congress.
My response to them was always "so what you are telling me is that you are going to vote Democrat this election".
The typical response back to me was always "Hell no I've never voted for a democrat and not going to start now!!!"
To: Fiddlstix

Tradesports rates it 80-85% likely GOP retains control of Senate.

Personally, if I had a choice in the matter, I'd choose DeWine and Chafee to be the losses. I do hold a grudge and I want those two to fall.
On the flip side, I'd like a Steele pickup in Maryland and maybe Bouchard pickup as a bonus with retention of Santorum, Talent, Allen and Burns. This is just my personal preference not my prediction of what will happen of course.

You know what all of this is indicative of? The Dims/Libs/MSM et al. are at this point!!

The Lame Stream Media has been predicting a sweep of both House and Senate.
All of a sudden, as the ol saying goes, "the worm has turned" and the ALL realize that they may have been a bit premature in ordering the celebratory champagne.
The leaking of the NIE and Dims holding hearings on Iraq and now this? I think their internal polls show they are sliding and now its "Panic Time." IMHO, of course.

The NYT has taken a big role in feeding the "George Allen is a racist" rumor mill in the past couple of days. They must have convinced themselves that the steady stream of Dim activists disguised as old acquaintances of Allen's that they've been serving up is dragging Allen down, so naturally they have to crow about how the Dims will now take the Senate.
