Clinton claims “the CIA and the FBI refused to certify that bin Laden was responsible [for the Cole bombing] while I was there.”

In the section titled Considering a Response starting at PDF-Page 211 of the 911 Commission Report,  (page 193 of the actual report) we find:

On November 25, Berger and Clarke wrote President Clinton that although the FBI and CIA investigations had not reached a formal conclusion, they believed the investigations would soon conclude that the attack had been carried out by a large cell whose senior members belonged to al Qaeda.

Most of those involved had trained in Bin Ladin–operated camps in Afghanistan, Berger continued. So far, Bin Ladin had not been tied personally to the attack and nobody had heard him directly order it, but two intelligence reports suggested that he was involved. When discussing possible responses, though, Berger referred to the premise—al Qaeda responsibility—as an “unproven assumption.”142

Secretary Albright’s advisers warned her at the time to be sure the evidence conclusively linked Bin Ladin to the Cole before considering any response, especially a military one, because such action might inflame the Islamic world and increase support for the Taliban.

Boy if that isn't classic Clintonian foreign policy.  We have 100% proof it's Al Qaeda, but are only 90% sure that Bin Laden is involved so we don't attack them because of the Arab street.

He [Clarke] thought they were “holding back.” He said he did not know why, but his impression was that Tenet and Reno possibly thought the White House “didn’t really want to know,” since the principals’ discussions by November suggested that there was not much White House interest in conducting further military operations against Afghanistan in the administration’s last weeks. He thought that, instead, President Clinton, Berger, and Secretary Albright were concentrating on a last minute push for a peace agreement between the Palestinians and the Israelis.148

Some of Clarke’s fellow counterterrorism officials, such as the State Department’s Sheehan and the FBI’s Watson, shared his disappointment that no military response occurred at the time. Clarke recently recalled that an angry Sheehan asked rhetorically of Defense officials:“Does al Qaeda have to attack the Pentagon to get their attention?”149

Here is what Wallace should have asked Clinton:

How is your Global Initiative?
How many billions have you now raised?
How does it feel to be an ex-President and yet still providing so much good to this world and specifically talk about the events that let to your rape of Juanita Broderick?

Then sit back and see how he reacts.

I wouldn't bet on it.

I wouldn't be surprised if he's tried and had botched lengthening surgery thereon.

Maybe, but even if he's had work done on it, it's still the real Clinton.

Funny how all those other 'attributes' of him cloud our memory over his main accomplishment: he was IMPEACHED!

True in that sense . . .

though . . . I still think, there's not a real bone . . . in his body.

There's only what he's pretended to be so long that he only knows how to play roles.

Yeah. Bill knows not to mess with Hillary (meaning not getting CAUGHT with the trailer park babes and interns) because those flying ashtrays hurt.

What I'd really like to know is who won the fight, Morris or Clinton? The way the Slickster went psycho on the interview kinda makes me think he got the better of Morris.

"Secure? Of course never because his own legacy is actually perverse leadership."

I would totally agree IF you left out the last word.

Keeping National Security and Terrorism in the news every day until elections seems to be the Republicans' dream.

If they can use Bill Clinton as a surrogate for the democrats seeking election in November, it may work.

I believe the theme is: "Democrats can NOT be trusted with defending Americans."

Evidence: Clinton did little or nothing.

Oh, he led all right. Led the country into disarray and immorality.

All leaders lead. Even terrible ones.

I wonder who the Clintons are actually afraid of since they would act on Bin Laden. It's certainly not that they are afraid to harm their fellow man.

Morris has been a Rip Van Winkle, slowly coming to his daylight senses....

That's one way of looking at it... another way is that he got rudely jolted out of his comfy lifestyle because he got caught with a whore. Had to seek employment elsewhere, and he just adapted to the wishes of his new employer.

Morris started out as a political gun for hire, there's no evidence that he's changed.

Once Dickie the Toe was outed, he had a choice: continue to live like bubba and his wino, or separate himself from the very people who used his services in such a political mess. I credit him for every step he has taken to distance himself from the cyclone called clinton, regardless of the reason.

Clinton's legacy should be that of an impeached, lying, incompetent, self serving, rapist and traitor.

Anything that doesn't include all of the above falls well short of the legacy he deserves.

Most men suffer some loss of emotional control in their sixties or seventies. Just not as stable or unable to hide a tantrum. You notice it, how many of them don't handle stress or conflict well.

Clinton's peaking way early because he never had any real emotional maturity to begin with. And this will only get worse.

Wonder how Her Thighness will manage to muzzle him for the '08 election? Or will he end up just another Arkancide on her trek to the White House? The Merry Widow, indeed.

I agree 100% with your post.

There were those typical lefties wacko's who on digg, youtube etc who were already in full cheerleader mode saying how Clinton "owned" Wallace etc etc.

And then his camp (or should I say Killary's camp) starting spinning immediately that Bill was just trying to "rally the democratic base".

Ok.

Once in a while, Morris is right. When he is, it's usually about Bill Clinton.
