ITHACA NY--A Gannett-owned Ithaca newspaper will refuse to participate in a gubernatorial debate in that city, after the event's organizers rejected its questions including one that seemed to advance 9/11 conspiracy theories.
According to the Ithaca Journal, the rejected questions for the debate included the following:
Thousands of New Yorkers continue to suffer from the 2001 terror attacks in NYC. Families and surviving victims have sought additional investigations on the attack that were never addressed by the 9/11 Commission Report. Do you accept the findings of that Commission, or are there areas of that investigation that still leave you with unanswered questions? Would you as governor act to open a state investigation to answer those questions?
The proposed questions were submitted from readers of the paper, the Journal explained.
According to the editors, they will continue to push the issue, if their readers continue to write in about it:
we are happy to let the candidates know what our readers would have asked by printing the topics and questions on this page and our Web site...Maybe [the candidates] will decide that questions from regular people deserve answers. The debate between Republican John Faso and Democrat Eliot Spitzer will be Tuesday (September 26) at Bailey Hall, on the Cornell University campus.
I guess Gannett is just giving its Ithaca readers what they want.
I can't improve on your "Ithaca is the City of Evil" comment. I bet Chavez would smell a LOT of sulphur if he visited.
Is it any wonder that MSM is declining? What loons.
Poor mooncrickets.
Just what the world needs, another pointless investigation. Investigate, investigate, investigate. I'm glad that the paper picked up its ball and went home, though. Reveals a lot about its liberal idiot editors.
Looks like the questions (which were lame) were rejected by NY1 cable, which is the Leninist farm team of the local TimeWarner cable monopoly. I can only assume that *anything* posing a potential problem for Saint Elliot will be suppressed.
Huh! Chris Wallace was just asking Clintoon the question that his viewers e-mailed him. That was considered outrageous by the MSM. Do I smell a whiff of hypocrisy wafting across Cayuga Lake?
It is not simply that the question came from readers, but rather that it was a really dumb question.
