I'm not an experienced fisherman, but I do enjoy it now and then. My last time out was at a stocked farm pond...it was like shooting fish in a barrel.

I also love a good, farm-raised catfish nugget, but the missus won't let me cook 'em for dinner. Her last experience with catfish was wild-caught mud cat, and it ruined her for life. Besides, I live an hour southwest of Atlanta, and after they've gotten done dumping their secret seasonings into the Hooch, I wouldn't eat anything out of it if I was starving to death. Strictly catch-and-release, unless I land something both big enough and pretty enough to look nice on my wall, and that ain't happened yet. I fish for sport, recreation, and personal satisfaction.

Good idea, though the cost seems a little much.

Cost is minimal compared to the analytical instrumentation that's required. This acts as a screening device to minimize the need for chemical analyses. (The fish agitation trigger the automatic samplers to run the chemical analyses.)

Plus, the monitoring is continuous, not from individual samples to be run.

I have no connection with this product or company.

Thanks for the ping! I have some great memories of catching bluegills as a lad. What fun! I'd love to get out and try again--and I love the way they taste!

Although adult bluegills can grow to be 13 inches long, the system relies on juveniles that are generally no longer than four inches. It requires that they remain in the chamber, unfed, for two-to-three-week tours of duty, Shedd said.

REVENGE! ;-)
