Bush Junior's Anti-Terrorism Plan (Sleeper sleeps with the fishes)
My Space ^ | David H. Chandler

Posted on 09/18/2006 10:35:52 AM PDT by DCfreedom2005

I guess my question is, how do we expect to defend ourselves against terrorism? We're fighting a war overseas and we can't even keep it together here! Sure, there have been incidences of foreign terrorists (specifically the WTC in '93 and of course on 9/11 along with the Pentagon and the downing of Flight United 93), but there is domestic terrorism! Does anyone remember Timothy McVeigh or Dylan Klebold and Eric Harris? With the latter mentioned, these were two sick individuals who were planning on a wide scale attack on their school. Fortunately, they weren't able to pull it off to full scale but many people died and it seems that acts of terrorism in this country have only escalated since I can remember.

Our beloved President is doing what he can to make us feel better by saying that we're going to fight this battle against terrorism not only through our military but through our ideas. Sure, it sounds good and it's a way to make us feel all warm and fuzzy inside. Then again, I don't believe anything he says will make us feel that way... that's besides the point. We watch the daily news on TV and see the death and destruction and the war that keeps raging overseas and we're being told that we're winning but we're only fighting a battle that can't be fought.

Recently we have been asked to remember 9/11 on the 5th anniversary but do we remember right after 9/11? We were being bombarded with fear tactics not only being dished out through the media but by our government. We were told there were threats of Anthrax, poisons, motorized planes, toys that contain explosives, attacks could happen on this, attacks could happen on that, orange, yellow, red, Terror alerts, but then our beloved president would get on and aleviate our fears by saying that "We're gaining ground on our war on terror... everything is going to be fields of wheat from here on out."

Yet, I have found these series of events to be extremely fishy.

When the planes were flown into the World Trade Center, The Pentagon, and outside of Pittsburgh, a very small, very dim bead of light turned on amidst the other thoughts in my head at that time. I think part of that light was neon and it took shape of the words "Something Fishy is going on here!" Yet more powerful was the thought, at that time, that what is happening here and is everything in my little corner of the world okay? I had to call my parents at that point and ask if everything was alright because they were not too close to Shanksville but I know that air flights from Pittsburgh were flying over their house quite often. I thought something else might be going on at that point.

Yet the "Something is Fishy" light has only become more brightly lit in the last year or so after seeing how our news carries out what is going on overseas and in Iraq, Afghanistan, Isreal, and the ongoing conflicts in the Middle East.

I'm not questioning so much the attacks on the US as I am asking who was REALLY involved. I'm not questioning what the President wants to do about terrorism abroad and domestically as much as I am asking how he is going to fight this "war". I'm not questioning the plan of attacks overseas as much as I am questioning when they were carried out. It took two months before troops were deployed to Afghanistan, yet as soon as a plan was made to attack Iraq it what almost an overnight action.

Most of all, I question what power the President and our government is gaining by using fear tactics and telling us that terrorism is all around us. I'm also looking at his cabinet advisors and seeing how much younger they are compared to him. One example is Fran Townsend who is now our beloved Homeland Security advisor. This was a position that was fabricated by the Bush administration after 9/11 and it was appointed to former governor Tom Ridge (who is older than Fran). Another example would be Condoleeza Rice as our Secretary of State who replaced Colin Powell. Colin had served in Washington as Charirman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff and as a National Security Advisor with many years of experience under his belt before Ms. Rice even stepped foot into our Capitol. Colin - born in 1937, Ms. Rice - born in 1954. You do the math!

Our beloved President wants to gain more power and it starts with those who work right under him. Hire the young and foolish so that he can look good no matter how stupid his mistakes are. He'll gain praise from his younger colleagues because they don't know any better. This attitude will only trickle down. First his cabinet, then through congress, after congress, the federal workers, then it just goes from there. You can't argue with the President! Keep him in power so that he can keep on being our Heroic WAR PRESIDENT!! Hey, this is something I've seen many times in the many companies that I've worked for. These people want power and the best way to gain power is to hire people who will go along with the game even though most of the times the game is unfair.

I guess my last question is, what are we still doing in Iraq? I thought our initiative over there was to topple Saddam Hussein from power and high-tail it out of there? Maybe I'm wrong, and maybe we have more of an initiative but I don't think it has anything to do with terrorism. I believe there will be a time very soon where we won't be able to post messages such as what I have written here.

Gawd, this is so stupid it makes my head hurt, sleeper troll. Bush spent a year trying to get UN action on Iraq. Do you think he had the military just sitting around on their thumbs during that time?

Your ignorance is staggering. There are plenty of documented connections between Iraq and Saddam, and Bush also sought to eliminate Saddam's WMDs that everyone thought he had.

The war on terror:
Is there a war or isn’t there? We have invaded two countries, displaced the governments of two countries, still have troops in two countries in order to “preserve the peace” such as it is, and yet, we have no declaration of war on either country.
Does a “Declaration of War” have no meaning in today’s world?

Some will say we have declared war on terrorism, no matter where it may be. Let’s look at that.
What IS terrorism?
Merriam-Webster's Dictionary of Law, © 1996 defines terrorism as,
1 : the unlawful use or threat of violence esp. against the state or the public as a politically motivated means of attack or coercion
2 : violent and intimidating gang activity street terrorism —ter•ror•ist /-ist/ adj or noun —ter•ror•is•tic /"ter-&r-'is-tik/ adjective
We have many instances of terrorism against the governments of, and the people of, The United States, The United Kingdom, many nations of Europe, even some Middle Eastern countries, especially Israel. Terrorism was brought home to the United States, quite unlike anything we have experienced in recent history, by the terroristic strikes of 9/11/01. So where is our war on terrorism to strike? Who is our war on terrorism to strike?
The average citizen doesn’t have the knowledge to decide where these terrorist acts originate from.
We must trust our governmental representatives and agencies to have the knowledge and the will to find these things out and decide those things.

But the average citizen does want to know, “What are we doing to keep our country safe from another attack like that, or worse?”

Which brings me to my second point.

Illegal immigration:

Look closely at the second definition of terrorism.
“Violent and intimidating gang activity”

We have many instances of that right here in our own country performed by our own citizens, as well as citizens of other countries here, legally and illegally.
Where is our war on terrorism?
Are we now to decide what type of terrorism we are at war with?

It’s my belief that most of the better organized gangs, especially at the top echelons, are comprised in large part of illegal aliens.
Why do these thugs, legal and illegal, roam our streets freely, acting with, almost, impunity, and we do little about it?
Why do millions of illegal immigrants pour across our southern border each year?
To begin with, is this not a hole in the fabric of our nation’s security? Could terrorists come across our border, even with the means to commit acts of terror, easily?
I have to say that the answer is, YES.

Yes, a terrorist could easily cross our southern border and I believe many do.
Not the type of terrorist you are thinking about. The man with a bomb strapped to his back, the man with nuclear devices in his backpack, the man with biochemical weapons attached to his belt, even though these could all be true.
I’m talking about the illegal immigrants that are part of gangs, or going to become part of a gang.
There are many of them, both already in a gang or willing to join a gang once here for self preservation, or to protect their families, whom, being illegals, won’t go to the police, or just wanting to show the gringo that they can’t be pushed around like, you got it, what they are, an illegal alien.

Why worry about committing acts of aggression yourself when you can get willing dupes to do your job for you?
Let’s sow some discord within the USA. Let’s get the USA to look at a different problem, illegal immigration, and they won’t be looking so hard in our direction. While we’re at it, let’s get some of our own people in easily so that when we ARE ready we’ll have a fifth column in place.
These reasons, in addition to the fact that many people have the gut feeling that the illegal immigrant should not be rewarded for breaking the law, are why we need to secure our borders, especially our southern border.
I believe that most people would be more than willing to have the many illegal immigrants as neighbors, the hard working ones at least, if only they had come to our country legally.

Most of the government, local, state, and federal, has turned a blind eye to the illegal immigrant lawbreakers in our country.
I haven’t been able to figure this out yet. Someone is getting paid off, I’m just not sure who yet.

Check your own facts, numbnuts! Bush went to the Congress and the UN twice before he declared war on Iraq. He already knew Iraq backed terrorists, it took a year for all the "i's" to be dotted and "t's" crossed at the insistence of the "pseudo-important" Dims and the totally inept UN....
