Chris Matthews' wife tackles Plamegate while her husband says it's "too complicated" to discuss
Newsbusters ^ | 9-16-06 | Tim Graham

Posted on 09/16/2006 8:10:29 AM PDT by freedom4me

When the show's ["Inside Washington"] substitute host Kathleen Matthews (wife of Chris Matthews) asked what the bottom line of Plamegate, Evan Thomas declared: "Nothing! Nothing! This is a big zero of a story that most of the American public has ignored, Washington has been feverishly consumed by, and it means something for Scooter Libby, who may go to jail, so it has some personal consequences, but in the great sum of American body politic, it means nothing."

Chrissy is too sissy to talk about the Plamegate debacle on his own show so he left it to the Mrs.

She must be smarter than he is. That's not hard to do, though. My dog usually comes up with better arguments and he doesn't go berserk and get all red in the face, either.

Well, Chris, walking is pretty complicated, as well.

I'm surprised that you can walk to the door, let alone drive a car. - Heavens!

That's because Chrissy, as Novak says, doesn't do news, or even political opinion. He does nothing on his show but verbally kick around what he thinks are safe topics. In other words, he does Democratic chit-chat [which explains his HUGE audience].

I might add to my post above that Democrat chit-chat doesn't include acknowledging errors or extending apologies.

Chrissy alert!

(Has she attended the soccer games as well?

Didn't realize they are both needed TV attention and approval of their "peers" in the MSM for their jobs.

This is one of the main reasons I really dislike liberal lapdog pundits like Sissy Chrissy: He is not MAN ENOUGH to say: "Wow, I was wrong about the whole story."

It takes a real man to admit when they are wrong. Sissy Chrissy is not a real man.

"that Richard Armitage deceived people by never admitting he was the leaker, and then claiming that he couldn't talk because of Special Counsel Patrick Fitzgerald, even though Fitzgerald was appointed months after he must have realized he was Novak's source. "

Fitzgerald knew about Armitage from the get-go so what was the point of the investigation and the money it cost. Fitzgerald should be brought up on charges!

Oh, Chris is smart. No doubt about it. But he also has gone absolutely bonkers in the last few years, seized by an insanity that perhaps can be explained as a kind of "metaphysical madness."

(And/or maybe his brain was adversely affected by the malaria he caught a few years ago in Africa?)

His wife Kathleen is also smart, not to mention a lot better looking. And from what I've long heard, she's even more liberal than Chris. But unlike him, she's not a blithering madman.

(Or at least she's such a good TV performer that she doesn't let her insanity come across on camera.)

NOTHING? What the heck is Evan Thomas talking about? This story means EVERYTHING. It was created out of whole cloth by the Kerry campaign to try to swing the 2004 election. It led directly to a widespread misperception in the media and the general public that "Bush lied about Iraq WMD," from which the President has never fully recovered. It kept Karl Rove under a cloud of suspicion for nearly three years, with untold consequences for the management of the White House, not to mention Rove's personal life. It cost Scooter Libby his job and future jobs. It caused Judy Miller to spend 85 days in jail. And worst of all, it made a celebrity out of Joe Wilson, one of the worst pieces of trash ever.

It's impossible to OVERSTATE how consequential this story is!

Well if it's nothing, which I absolutly agree with, why is there still a chance that Libby will go to jail? It's kind of like there's no crime here but we'll send this guy to prison anyway. How corrupt is this country getting ???

It takes a real man to admit when they are wrong. Sissy Chrissy is not a real man.

Spitboy is really in his glory when he's bullying a woman. He did it to Michelle Malkin and Diana Irey... and an 'unknown' waitress in MD.

Seems he took wifey to a pizza joint and got pissed because of the slow service. His waitress appologized for the wait(the place was packed)... but 'The Spitter' wasn't having any. He screamed at the woman and brought her to tears. He then got up and walked out... leaving his wife... who soon followed after apologizing for him.

The guy's a total a$$clown... public/private... makes no diff.

Nothing complicated in the least.

The Wilsons provided Democrats and the MSM with the story they wanted, and salivated to have. They beat it to death, and in the process did incalculable harm this Administration.

Christ Matthews, that Olberman thing, and every other left wing mouthpiece and outlet used the "story" at every opportunity ... but when it blew up in their faces, oops ... just too complicated, not newsworthy, and it just happened to come on the eve of a holiday weekend. How fortuitous.

In the meanwhile, they pounded the credibility of our president, vice president, and their staffs. No one can even begin to imagine the personal toll on Libby. It cost taxpayers a fortune for worthless investigation. Just shameful.
