It was however a good movie that described the problems people have with change.

That's a great take on the movie. I guess I enjoyed it mostly for the warrior ethic it portrayed. It was similar to Brave Heart in that respect to me. Tom Cruise is one weird duck (and I'm sure a liberal) but he is a good actor.

The author has little grasp of western civilization. The reason it's propsered throughout the ages is that its people are constantly re-examining and tossing out what is no longer of immediate or long term utility. That is to say, it isn't static and stuck in the 7th century.

It also portrayed the king of Jerusalam as a jsut mand and peace maker.

I didn't say it was historically accurate, and I realize it wasn't, but I didn't find it particularly anti-Christian.
