Damn! I'd say they're both going to the pokey pretty quick. The guy was trying to do some serious damage to the reporter.

Was the reporter on their property? I'm not saying he deserved that, but he isn't very good at taking a hint. He was certainly asking for it with the "Have a nice day" remark. He was interviewing victims of their scam, and was nowhere near their property, according to the interview I heard with him. I do agree with you that anyone saying "have a nice day" should be attacked if not killed outright. /sarcasm

Reminds me of the old joke; What do you say to a woman with a fat lip and a black eye?
Nothing, she's already been told twice!

I agree. This sort of writing gets me real sore under the saddle, quick.

He was interviewing victims of their scam, and was nowhere near their property, according to the interview I heard with him. Hmmmmm.....I wonder how Ms. Rosa knew to show up when she did?

Let me play "devils advocate" here. Who knows how long this reporter had been stalking this couple. And when does a journalist become a stalker.

It would never have ocurred to me that the man who jumped in to help could be in trouble, too.

Yes, but does that have any significance. If I'm being interviewed by a reporter, and a man comes and viciously attacks the reporter, even if I have a civil court beef with the attacker, surely I can jump in to prevent great bodily harm/death?

I belong to the school that says the "third man" was a good samaritan and is no way a perp. I'm confused by any suggestion he belongs in jail.
