Well, apparently sting rays harrass divers.

He was a good guy and entertaining. His wife and kids must be devastated.

Who would have thought that a STINGRAY did him in?!! I've petted those buggers on numerous occasions and even fed them!

God rest his soul! Such a wonderful man with such a zeal for life. He will be missed.

Oh my god I am so upset about this. He was on my list of people to meet.
Remember the thread about if you had a dinner party and could invite any 10 living people living or dead? He was on my guest list. I am very sad tonight. Poor Terri.

I always ribbed my online Aussie friends, one time I asked one "Do all Australian's act like Steve?", and she replied "GOOD GOD NO!" lol

He really loved life 100%. May God bless him and keep him, and give his family and friends strength.

There's some pretty nasty stuff in the deep. I heard there's less than five people on Earth who survived being stung by a conch.

I don't claim to be an expert on animal behavior, but it seems more than a few times I saw him basically get in the face of some critter who just plain didn't like cameras. Or humans.

He will be missed. I liked his show.

God Bless the wife and two young girls he left behind.

More often than not, he was playing with animals that don't recognize humans as being on top of the food chain.

Apparently his wife doesn't know yet. She's climbing a mountain somewhere.
