"how far did he travel every day"
He didn't have to travel outside of his hotel - his "investigation" consisted of sitting poolside and chatting up his pals while sipping "warm mint tea" according to his own account - which should have been a dead giveaway that his trip was never a serious investigation and could not possibly begin to disprove anything at all about Iraq's possible interest in uranium......

[Wilson] "...convincingly disproved the Niger-Iraq uranium stories central to the Bush case for war..."
Pure steaming fragrant donkey crap. The usual for the lying leftists at the Red-Star Tribune.... Among the countless lies of the moonbat left, this is one of the worst, and one that just won't die no matter how many times it is refuted!! It is difficult to prove a negative anyway, but Wilson's slovenly mission could not begin to do so, all he could get were a few self-serving denials from locals in Niger. In any case, Wilson found that there WAS Iraqi interest expressed in trade relations with Niger, which the former official in question believed related to potential uranium sales. (1) Method: nothing about Joe Wilson's mission could possibly "disprove" that Iraq was interested in uranium in general (from any possible source), and certainly could not begin to "disprove" that any Iraqi official had ever sought a secret basis for future uranium sales; (2) Reality: not only was the Wilson mission inherently incapable of "disproving" the SOU statement, but in fact Wilson did manage to blunder his way to some info that indicated there WAS Iraqi interest in Niger uranium.

Thanks so much, beaversmom. I did get it to work but will have to go back to it later. I'm a hit and run FReeper today. I'll look for a transcript and flip it to you if I find it.
Cheers - D
P.S. That's a lovely dress, you're wearing beaversmom.

Is this their idea of an apology?
It WP's version of "mistakes were made".
To: AZRepublican
Yeah, but despite the fact that their "reporting" was false, the story was at least plausible. It could have happened anyway, so what the heck. They got two years of Bush-bashing at any rate. So what if newspaper credibility is in freefall.

"Does Wilson now call for Armitage to be marched out of the State Dept.?"
His lawyer said Armitage was 'just gossiping' so they aren't worried about him. Honestly.
They are still going after Cheney, Rove, and Libby.
To: beaversmom
Could be. However, that does not take away from her efforts overseas before she was outed.
She's trash as far as I'm concerned but I don't want to take away from her previous service, deadly dangerous service.

No, I mean Aldrich Ames. The CIA agent who was arrested and convicting of revealing secret information to our enemies. If you google in Aldrich Ames you will see what that low life piece of garbage did to America.

WE'RE RELUCTANT to return to the subject of former CIA employee Valerie Plame because of our oft-stated belief that far too much attention and debate in Washington has been devoted to her story and that of her husband, former ambassador Joseph C. Wilson IV, over the past three years.Never mind? Never mind? That is it! These bastards tried to take down a duly elected president of the United States of America. They persecuted innocent men, not to mention their children and wives. They staked out Roves house, terrifying his family. They lied with impunity and assasinated the character of good and decent men. And these traitors say, "Never Mind." That is not quiet good enough. Now they need to tell the truth, above the fold, front page. They need to call on Powell and Armitage to demand an accounting of their actions.
Never mind is not good enough.
To: NeoCaveman
think this was all just a simple scam by Valerie to get her layabout husband out of the house for a week (to Niger) that all got out of hand....You are very generous. Please explain to me why the august Colon Powell and Richard Armitage, did not step forward and tell the simple truth and preempt all of the mysery for Bush, Rove, Libby, and frankly the country.

Here's my half baked theory in its fullest.
Scam #1 : Valerie Wilson Plame gets rid of her layabout husband for a few weeks by sending him to Africa
Then Scam #2 Worthless layabout husabnd uses trip to try to undermine administration with his op ed.
Then Scam #3, the state department leaks Plame's identity probably in order to cause a tremendous problem for the administration.
Scam #4 involves Fitzgerald dragging out an investigation that need not ever happened.
