Didn't she become embroiled in politics because of her husband. It seems to me all of this has been much to do about nothing. I guess I'm not getting it.

Ex-Envoy: Nuclear Report Ignored Washington Post Pincus July 6, 2003
"While his family prepared for a Fourth of July dinner, he proudly showed a reporter photos of himself with Bush's parents. On a den wall was a framed cable to him in Baghdad, from the first President Bush, dated Nov. 20, 1990:"

Was Valerie Plame Walter Pincus' Senior CIA Analyst Source? Washington Post FR 8-3-05
The dem party actually is a cabal of criminals, Suzy. Accusing Republicans of that is nothing more than projection.
I think this was all just a simple scam by Valerie to get her layabout husband out of the house for a week (to Niger) that all got out of hand....
If you read this thing closely, the Post is STILL trying to point fingers at the Bush Administration. A very poor piece of journalism.
This is where we need an lexis nexis account in order to count the number of stories that the Washupost filed on this story and ask....Why are you reluctant after 100's of stories?
Free Scooter Libby!!!!
It's gonna be a good morning ;)
Wow -- talk about stretching the facts to fit the conclusion. What a bunch of crap! Of course Rove et al are going to talk about Plame, once they see Novak's got it. Wilson had to be shown as an unworthy source of info, considering his lie-filled op-ed and all the hype he brought upon himself.
If Armitage and his co-conspirator Powell were still working at State-
David Gregory and the rest of the WH pressrats would hector President Bush and demand that he fire him.
Brian Williams ,Tim Russert and UberOlberGoober would do likewise-endlessly replaying the President's remarks from a years earlier regarding the leak.
And now, I have a bridge to sell ...
And why does the WaPo denounce the WH for trying
to " discredit " Wilson, a man they now admit was a pathological liar ?
Wilson has as much credibility as John Mark Karr.
I had to (re)read those last two paragraphs myself; they just couldn't resist getitng that last shot in. With all the spin, it's like a game of Twister. The facts staring the WaPo in the face, and they can't help but still "blame it on Bush and Rove". What a joke! And it's burried on page A20 too.
I've often wondered what really DID happen on that trip to Niger. I would say, to really get the bottom of it (whether it was a state sponsored junket, or whether actual work was done) would be to look at the expense reports. If there are a lot of charges for say, "Ms. Chow's Pleasure House of Massage", then maybe there wasn't any work done at all?
And where IS the final report? Surely someone has it on FR. I'd love to read what he eventually "concluded" back then before the whole Plamegate got started, because there seems to be some discrepency as to whether the report supported or denied the yellowcake purchase claim.
"An Exclamation Point On The Plame Denouement The Washington Post's editorial board takes a shot at Joe Wilson, one of their anonymous sources three years ago, as the full impact of the discovery of Richard Armitage as the Valerie Plame leaker takes effect. The editors place the blame for Plame's unmasking where it always belonged -- on Wilson himself:
"[I]t now appears that the person most responsible for the end of Ms. Plame's CIA career is Mr. Wilson. Mr. Wilson chose to go public with an explosive charge, claiming -- falsely, as it turned out -- that he had debunked reports of Iraqi uranium-shopping in Niger and that his report had circulated to senior administration officials. He ought to have expected that both those officials and journalists such as Mr. Novak would ask why a retired ambassador would have been sent on such a mission and that the answer would point to his wife. He diverted responsibility from himself and his false charges by claiming that President Bush's closest aides had engaged in an illegal conspiracy. It's unfortunate that so many people took him seriously. It's more than unfortunate -- it was deliberate. Wilson and Plame set up this trip for the purpose of discrediting the elected officials of the American government in an attempt to keep them from exercising their policies on intelligence and foreign affairs. Wilson lied and deceived people, first by leaking his disinformation anonymously to the Post and the New York Times, and then in an editorial that relied on his diplomatic reputation to bolster the credibility of his false accusations.
"This set off a political witch hunt the likes of which should embarrass the media and Denmocrats for years, but probably won't. They demanded an investigation into the leak, especially the editorial board of the New York Times, then wailed as the prosecutor started jailing reporters for non-cooperation. The whole time the media and the mainstream Democratic leadership -- including their presidential nominee John Kerry, who made Wilson a part of his campaign -- insisted that Wilson spoke truth to power, even while Kerry's own Senate intelligence panel reached a very different conclusion.
Now the Left and the media want to continue talking about Scooter Libby rather than the three-year travesty they have foisted on this nation during a time of war. At least the Washington Post knows when to stop.
David Cor and Mikey Isikoff KNEW about Armitage/Powell and yet they PUSHED the LIE about it being ROVE/CHENEY/LIBBY/BUSH!!! They should be FIRED for the LIARS they are.....but wait, they are DEMOCRATS...they LIE, that's what Dems do, they LIE.
He openly admits to reading/participating in the DailyKOS website and supporting what it claims?
Amazing but I guess not too unpredictable if true. It's as if the leftists in the media have given up all pretenses of being objective. Whenever they do, at least they're being honest.
And yes, for any lurker out there, anyone who agrees with DailyKOS on anything cannot possibly be an objective news reporter. The two are simply, mutually exclusive.
Wilson din't WRITE a formasl report!!!! WHO the hell sent him and signed off on his expenses????
It would be interesting to see what his expenses were. That's always a good indication of what is actually being done. I'm sure he had to rent a car, or at least the services of a car, for example, so how far did he travel every day? Where was he going? Who was he talking with and where? It would be very telling.
Regardless of who wrote the final report, it would still be interesting to read. Again, there seems to be some confusion about whether or not the report supported the yellowcake story or not. The Post seems to say that it did in a previous editorial (posted in the thread); the Minneapolis Star Tribune editorial posted earlier in this thread seems to say it didn't. Clearly someone's wrong.
What if he DIDN'T rent a car???/ HMMMMMM....Who did he meet with?? When he said he just sat at a hotel drinking SWEET TEA makes me think he did just the OPPOSITE!! Better to be thought of as an icompetent BOOB than a TRAITOR!!
