At least they don't have any mention of evolution in their textbooks!

Interesting to note that Americans AND Japanese are presented as the evil bad guys. It looks like Kim sees the hand writing on the wall as to who he will eventually have to face when the hammer falls. Training the future troops early for the eventual confrontation. That is unless he dies, North Korea falls into utter termoil, the truth of what it is really like ouutside the NK country wide prison camp and the people defect en mass.

Wasn't that also when they opened Fenway?

Sorry 'bout that. Fenway is Fenway Park, the ball park that is home to the Boston Red Sox.

Re #45

I know what Fenway Park is. I just wondered what happened when they opened it.

The content is awful (and just about what one would expect).

But some of the art is simply beautiful. What a shame that obviously very talented artists have to waste their time on this dreck.

But it puts food on the table . . . no doubt very important for starving artists in NK . . . more so than elsewhere.

Your post is welcome. On Saturday morning at 5am, as I've done for many Saturdays by God's Amazing Grace, I prayed in part the following prayer, sent out through Open Doors. Through this organization's efforts to help the persecuted I am a part of the Three Year Prayer Campaign for North Korea:

Adapting for Children

In addition to the adult refugees, the children are having difficulties as well. The children who were previously educated in North Korea are far behind in their education. The education in North Korea is completely different since the largest part of the curriculum is dedicated to the Juche ideology. The children have received hardly any 'ordinary' education. This means that it is extremely difficult for the children to catch up with their peers. Fortunately, there are organizations that give the children additional tutoring and help in adapting to life in South Korea.

Please pray:

For the children, that they will quickly reach the appropriate level of education for their age and they will not grow discouraged from the extra work needed to catch up.

For these organizations themselves, that they may be granted wisdom as to how to best meet with these children’s needs.

For opportunities for the Gospel to be taught to them and that the light of Jesus will shine brightly in their lives.

That these children will grow to be advocates for freedom for their brothers and sisters living in North Korea.

Because of your post I now know the specific details and not simply the nature of the evil. Thank you for bringing this to light.

No matter what it says I am so astounded and flabbergasted at writing that does not use regular letters. Just amazes me! Chinese looks like melted TV aerials to me. This Korean kind of looks like stick figures.

Yankees fans see the opening of Fenway and the sinking of the TITANIC as the same thing.

See Imperialist Running Dog run.

See Imperialist Running Dog die.
Die Imperialist Running Dog, die.

Thank you Marshall for killing Imperialist Running Dog.

The world thanks Marshall for killing Imperialist Running Dog and making the red flowers bloom all over the world.

Good post.

This propoganda is scary, but I think only as bad as the propoganda at US universities all over the country.

Sure, it IS scarier when it's directed at younger kids, somehow.

I started to have similar, creepy feelings when US Saturday-morning cartoon "evil" characters were polluting capitalists, ordinary businessmen, etc.

And US soldiers were heroic ENVIRONMENTALISTS.

Korean has an alphabet. From Wikipedia:
While Hangul may look like logographic Chinese writing to some, it is actually a phonemic alphabet organized into syllabic blocks. Each block consists of at least two of the 24 Hangul letters (jamo): at least one each of the 14 consonants and 10 vowels.

PING...

Interesting look inside a North Korea school textbook...

This ping list is for the "other" articles of interest to homeschoolers about education and public school. If you want on/off this list, please freepmail me. The main Homeschool Ping List by DaveLoneRanger handles the homeschool-specific articles.
