Nationally syndicated radio host Neal Boortz stated on his show today that Randi Rhodes might find herself in court if she continues to tell lies on the air during her radio program.
Since the two appeared on the Larry King Live show a few weeks ago, Rhodes has been obsessed with Boortz after he made her look foolish on national television. At one point Rhodes claimed Boortz made a statement about Muslims that Boortz said he never made. Boortz then issued a challenge to Rhodes with a $5,000 bet. Rhodes accepted the challenge and then told Larry King and the viewers they could find proof of her claims by simply going to the "Media Matters" web site. Later Media Matters issued a statement that it had no documentation to back up the claims made by Ms. Rhodes. For those who are familiar with Rhodes, this was not a suprise. It's extremely rare for statements she makes to be accompanied by with any supporting evidence or proof. In her world, emotion trumps fact.
According to Boortz, he and his family have received death threats due to lies told by Rhodes on her failing radio show (Air America has to pay stations to carry her program). According to Boortz, Rhodes has been making statements she says Boortz has made regarding Muslims.
Transcripts from the Boortz show reveal that Rhodes claims were incorrect. Boortz is still waiting to recieve his check from her.

Dang! I was listening to Boortz on and off this AM, but I missed this. Good stuff.
He's not a guy you want to debate. He tends to tear people new ones, quite effectively, when it comes to verbal fisticuffs.

Rhodes claimed Boortz referred to muslims as "ragheads". Typical ridiculous charge, it was easy to see how artfully Boortz outclassed her on that show.

I REALLY can't stand that...woman??? I usually play a little game when her show comes on the radio. I tell myself I'll listen as long as she doesn't bash anyone. It usually lasts about 4.6 seconds.

I just saw Jerry Springer on TV and he said he was not making a penny from Air America. I got the impression that the hosts work on a percentage of the gross. Since the gross is near zero they certainly don't get paid much if anything.

If memory serves, Rhodes claimed that Boortz maligned all Muslims, calling them all terrorists and ragheads. Boortz said that he had made no such declaration, and challenged Rhodes to a $5,000 bet. Rhodes accepted, and insisted that proof could be found at MediaMatters.org.
After MediaMatters said they couldn't find the proof that Rhodes said they had, she got very, very quiet. I'm guessing her pockets aren't deep enough to pay off the bet.
Just damn.
