I've been a Megadeth fan for a long time. Dave Mustaine is a pretty smart guy, in spite of his past bad habits.
My wife is so cool. She was irritated with me a few weeks ago and I overheard her telling my dad that I had "Packed my bags, hocked my brains, and headed west"
Who cares? Who cares what this guy, Tom Cruise or the Dixie Chicks think? You can't "dis" the Chicks and "praise" this guy. Mentally, they are all feather weights and shouldn't even be given space for their thoughts ... maybe a vacuum? Opinions of "stars" basically suck ... who cares?
Who cares what you think?
He was tossed out because he was known to be not only a very mean drunk, but was doing lots of coke as well.
He's faught his demons over the years, that is for sure.
But as if James Hetfield and Lars Ulrich weren't just as big abusers.
All those guys have been in and out of rehab more times than you can count.
I met Dave Mustaine on a few occasions when I lived in Hawaii. At a party when they came out to play on the peace sells tour, and a few years later when he came out to visit friends of mine during a break in touring.
Very gifted musician, and I respect him a lot more than Metallica who haven't put out anything musicially worthy for over 15 years. Dave never sold out, I love his music, and he's good to his fans. Plus, I think he was more of a conservative before 9/11. People he most dispises is Tipper and Al Gore. Dave really was vocal about his hatred for Tipper's consorship organization, the PMRC.
That's an awfully blanket statement. I'd agree that 90% of them are. Some do have a brain. The difference between Dave Mustaine and the Dixie Twits is that Mustaine has always come across as intelligent, but the Dixie Twits are obviously not too bright, not because of their politics, just listen to them talk! Are there smart liberal celebs? Sure. Bono of U2. Stupid conservative celebs? I'm sure there are, but generally one must have some sort of intelligence to be conservative.
ping
Megadeth roxxx!
Yes, but he's also refused to take the stage after a Satanic death metal band doing the opening act. That was 25 years ago, people change.
i think the dude is on to something
I don't listen to anyone with only capital letters in their name.
(and don't even get me started on all consonants, except for "y" depending on what mood I'm in)
Somewhat off topic... but it amazed me during the 2000 election that so many rockers had forgotten about that. Back in the late '80s, Tipper wanted full-up censorship of recordings.
Can you put a price on peace?
Peace Sells
What do you mean I don't believe in God?
Talk to him every day
What do you mean I don't support your system?
I go to court when I have to
What do you mean I can't get to work on time?
Got nothing better to do
What do you mean I don't pay my bills?
Why do you think I'm broke? Huh?
If there's a new way
I'll be the first in line
But, it better work this time
What do you mean I hurt your feelings?
I didn't know you had any feelings
What do you mean I ain't kind?
Just not your kind
What do you mean I couldn't be President Of the United States of America?
Tell me something, it's still 'We the people', right?
If there's a new way
I'll be the first in line
But, it better work this time
Can you put a price on peace?
Peace, peace sells, peace, peace sells
Peace sells, but who's buying?
Peace sells, but who's buying?
No, no, no, no, no!
Peace sells
Peace sells
