ROZ-lynn was the original Heinous Harridan -- BH (Before Hillary). She also sat in on cabinet meetings. Couldn't let Jimmah have too long a lead on that leash!

Carter.. Now that brings back memories..

I was a young navy enlisted man working with an F-14 fighter squadron on the flight deck aboard the USS Conatellation (CV-64) in the late 70's. With the budget cuts the Carter admin. had hit the DOD with few of our ships and planes were actually seaworthy or airworthy. I still recall one incident vividly over 25 years later. The non-skid decking on the flight deck was so old that it was non-exsistant. It was like ice skating and we were taxiing aircraft around on this thing while it was doing 30 knots. In a rain shower one day an A-7 that was taxiing up to the waist cats slid right over the deck and into the catwalk. It had one maingear in the catwalk and the other on deck. I must have just been the closest man to it at the time because I dove under the main that was on deck and tied it down with a tiedown chain. I am still not certain whether it actually would have gone all the way overboard or not. When the pilot shut down the engine and finally climbed out of the thing he looked like he had seen a ghost.

All this happened during a 47 day deployment off Iran and Yemen in the spring of '79. This was while the radicals were throwing the Shah out. Our orders were to sit off the coast.. and do nothing! When we finally got back to Subic Bay in the Philippines guess how they "fixed" the flight deck? A PHILIPPINO contractor was hired to renew a six foot strip of non-skid arourd the edge of the flight deck. The center of thing where we worked was left bare. There was no budget to fix it.

Even with the extra bit of money we recieved as "flight deck pay", the pay was so low that the married guys in the squadron had to apply for food stamps in order to feed their families. This is while they are on active duty, serving their country!

When my four years were up in the summer of '80 I got out as fast as I could. If I had only known that help was on the way. In November Ronald Reagan was elected and starting in '81 things got much, much better for all the troops. If I had known this at the time I would have stayed in as was my original plan. But not with the way Carter ran the military. AND HE WAS EX-NAVY!!

And this guy is still out there badmouthing his country! He's the one that should be tried for treason!

You are a little older than I.
I enlisted USAF March '82, served 4 years.I was 50 / 50 about staying in, in retrospect I probably should have.
But you are right about the changes. I was a different force when I left to the one I had joined, and it was still rebuilding.
Clinton did a lot of damage to the services during his eight years, similar to the Carter years. Entire divisions were cut .... the so called peace dividend.

Perhaps someone can start a mission to take Carter's Nobel away. His view of peace if for America to scrape and bow to the UN and the Islamofascists.

I can't find a single good thing to say about him.

Was he even any good at the house-building thing?

Actually not.

Other people did the work, he lent his name and took the credit. I used to THINK he deserved credit for it, because he certainly made sure it was noised abroad, but I found out differently when I actually got involved in the program through my church. I should have known that he would run true to type.

Neither am I a rat. I have never voted for a rat in my life and I am 66. I am proud to be on the opposite side from the idiots who claim to be loyal Americans but obviously hate America.
