"...identify strongly with Nasrallah's battle with Israel, which has occupied Syria's Golan Heights since 1967."
It's hard to imagine the strategic significance of the Golan Heights until you have been there. Working in Israel in the late 80s, my sponsor took me there and showed me the views south and east. Syria could easily hit most Israeli targets, including Tel Aviv, with missiles placed there. Israel will never allow that to happen.

"Pray for the resistance, pray for Hassan Nasrallah. He is defending justice," Father Elias Zahlawi told the congregation at special mass held at the Lady of Damascus, a Catholic church.Yeah, thats it Father. Pray that the Hezzies wipe Israel off the face of the earth. That should please the Father of Jesus. Gee, and Mel is an anti-Semite?

Thanks for the reference. I am of the opinion that Iran is trying to influence world opinion by quoting a few Christians and imply that all Arabs are against Jews, both muslim and Christian. Arabs haven't been united ever. They are a tribal culture and specific Arab tribes hate other Arab tribes and will kill them anytime they are given the chance. Tribal warfare. It's as simple as that. Iran wants to unite these tribes against Israel for their own interests. The Arabs don't trust Persians any more than they trust Jews.

I've been convinced of that for a long, long time. No one could willing choose the life these people have been forced to endure. It's against their own interests -- no matter what you do if given freedom of choice, you cannot get someone to violate that. In the Middle East it is routine. After a while, you just let go of the rope and give up.

"Pray for the resistance, pray for Hassan Nasrallah. He is defending justice," Father Elias Zahlawi told the congregation at special mass held at the Lady of Damascus, a Catholic church. If they are saying this voluntarily and not at the point of a gun, it helps to rapidly reduce my sympathies for Arab Christians.

Lighting a candle isn't going to do anything for anybody, except make a little shadow flicker in a dark church building.

Hezbollah fighters ignored his pleas to stop If they ever once listen to the pleas of the innocent that would be news.

Father Elias Zahlawi If it was a crime to be a Christian, would there be enough evidence against this guy to convict him?

There is nothing Iran wants more than arabs to war with Israel and for Iran to pick up the pieces and organize a global arab war against the United States. Nicely stated. The attack against Israel is just an opening gambit designed to advance Iran's position.

I have met many so called Christians that hate Jews.

Some people any chance they get to say how they dislike or hate Jews they take it.
It makes me sick and angry.

This report is an abomination and Reuter's propaganda at its worst. Catholic News Agency reported on August 3 that Hizbollah in southern Lebanon were using Christian villages as shields in missile attacks. The Hizbollah enter Christian homes and businesses, fire-off missiles, and then hope the Israel's will respond after they have bugged out.
That any Syrian would light a candle for a Muslim terrorist, or for the Assad family or his Alawite catamites, defies the reality that is Syria today.

Frankly, many churches have become so polluted with ideology that has no Biblical source for support that one can no longer assume the word Christian means today what it meant before. As with many things, language has lost its connection to the concept or the content it was supposed to represent. And, none of the freaks who speak contentless words wish to define their terms, as we would then know them for the Judases they are.

They're NOT really Christians, so I don't care what they have to say? They're ALL Koranimals. Every darn one of them. Watching that bunch demonstrate in Iraq today really made me mad. They should have killed that cleric (Mutada sp.) who caused all the trouble before, but NO, it's not PC to kill trouble makers. They better be glad that I'm not President. ;o)

Bishops and priests say Syria's Christians, a devout community of around three million out of a population of 18 million, identify strongly with Nasrallah's battle with Israel Yeah, right. And Iran's Jews stand with Ahdamnmadnutjob.
