This should be fun, waiting for the regulars to show up and defend it and tell us how mean we are.

Hey, don't get me wrong. I am 100% pro-choice.

A woman should have a choice on what medical procedures she has and what medicines she takes. Absolutely. 100%.

However, the baby should also have a choice on what medical procedures it wants and what medicines it ingests.

When a pro-abort can 100%, definitively show me that the baby WANTS to be dismembered...that the baby WANTS to be burnt with saline...that the baby WANTS to be cut off from its source of nutrition...bottom line, that the baby WANTS to be murdered...when a pro-abort can 100%, definitively show me that, I'll join them.

Until then, there's a little life that needs to be protected until he or she can protect him/herself from the wolves.

None have died from this pill.

I'm willing to bet a few babies have.

what about a man going to the store, getting the pill and putting it in a woman's drink or food because he doesn't want to be a daddy, even though the woman wants the baby?

What it really says is "I'm too lazy to remember to take regular birth control or was too hammered last night and I wanted to get laid". It will be marketed to the college and party crowd.

No babies died because it prevents pregnancy it doesn't end it. This drug is only a large dosage of current birth control. Its NOT RU-486

Please read the Plan-B website and my post #2, above.
Plan B is believed to act as an emergency contraceptive principally by preventing ovulation or fertilization (by altering tubal transport of sperm and/or ova). In addition, it may inhibit implantation by altering the endometrium.

Inhibiting implantation means that it is an abortifaciant. Period. Dot. End of story.

He'd have to know there was a pregnancy within hours of actually going to bed with her. What are the odds of him even calling for the next few days? :)

Merck received approval to sell a vaccine called Gardasil, which protects against Human Papillomavirus (HPV), one of the most common STD's out there.

According to the datasheet for the vaccine,

GARDASIL is a vaccine indicated in girls and women 9-26 years of age for the prevention of the following diseases caused by Human Papillomavirus (HPV) types 6, 11, 16, and 18:
• Cervical cancer
• Genital warts (condyloma acuminata) and the following precancerous or dysplastic lesions:
• Cervical adenocarcinoma in situ (AIS)
• Cervical intraepithelial neoplasia (CIN) grade 2 and grade 3
• Vulvar intraepithelial neoplasia (VIN) grade 2 and grade 3
• Vaginal intraepithelial neoplasia (VaIN) grade 2 and grade 3
• Cervical intraepithelial neoplasia (CIN) grade 1

Please note the bolded text, above.

To those, like you and I, who are pro-life, affixing blame is secondary to the fact that, in all likelihood, the baby's life would be taken as the result of this. If the woman ingested the chemicals voluntarily, she's guilty of murder...and the baby's dead. If the man caused her to ingest the chemicals through some sort of stealth, he is guilty of murder. But...the most important factor is that in either case, the baby is still dead.

In fact, 2-5 of a woman's birth control pills do the same thing, if taken properly. There are protocols available for this from most providers and also on the web.

But as you can see many anti abortion folks are also anti birth control.

I don't know much about Plan B and I'm probably going to get flamed for this big time. But IF it is used to prevent ovulation and used right away - is it an abortifacient?

Now, before I get flamed I've never been on one of these threads so I'm not "jumping" on any band wagon. I know it's a slippery slope but I'm wondering everyone's take on it if used right away.

Inhibiting implantation means that it is an abortifaciant. Period. Dot. End of story.
How interestingly selective of you to choose the quote that says "it MAY inhibit implantation" while then omitting the quote on the same page that says

Is Plan B the same as RU486 (abortion pill)? No, Plan B is not an abortifacient. It is an emergency contraceptive and should not be confused with RU486 or any other abortifacient. Plan B is not effective if a woman is pregnant.

As far as I am aware there is no convincing evidence that Plan B actually inhibits implantation. They say "may" because it hasn't been completely disproven, but it is obviously very difficult to design a study to prove one way or the other. Most literature I have seen points in the direction that it only has an effect on fertilization.

If it is used to prevent ovulation, then it wouldn't be.

However, all of these hormonal medicines advertise that they try to prevent ovulation, prevent fertilization if ovulation occurs, and then to prevent implantation if fertilization occurs.

Once fertilization occurs, you have a unique being. A human life. See the following article from the Libertarians for Life website that explains this in completely areligious terms. (credit for the link to hocndoc)

they say it is not an abortifaciant because they say life begins at implantation, not fertilization. If you admit that life begins at fertilization, then yes, Plan B and the Pill both have the potential to be abortifaciants.

Great, I can't buy sudafed over the counter without signing a registry.

No kidding, I get treated like a terrorist because I want to buy more than one at a time, simply because some retailers lobbied to only make them available in stores with pharmacies, cutting out many other stores, oh wait, I mean some teary-eyed "victims" and victims-rights-advocates along with law enforcement got up and did the song and dance routine and started convincing state legislatures that anybody buying more than one box at a time is running a meth lab.
