The Lebanese army opened fire on Israeli helicopters trying to land near a town in the Bekaa valley, preventing them from setting down, Lebanese security sources and witnesses said.
The four helicopters appeared to be trying to land Israeli soldiers near the town of Yammouni, they said.
The helicopters flew away before Israeli warplanes launched air raids on the area, the sources said.

I would have thought they would have had air cover go in before they tried to land
Wonder how accurate this is

...The Lebanese army ... Probably the Hezbo battalion. I am sure the Lebanese army has units fully infiltrated by the Hezbos. It is the same problem that they have in Iraq where Fat-boys murders have signed up for service in droves. These are the "death squads" that the Sunnis are up in arms about.

I would share the opinion that the Hezbos have become PART of the Lebanese Army, just another reason for Lebanon to purge itself of Hezbos in government, in the military and in the citizenry. Otherwise they should be prepared for ANY consequence of supporting and harboring terrorists.

Hezbollah is part of the Lebanese government, and the military would be heavily populated by shia and hezbollah sympathisers. There is no chance it will ever be fielded against Hezbollah.
The only thing holding the Lebanese military back from going openly to Hezbollah's assistance is fear of the Israelis.
They need to get stung for this and any other case where they inject themselves into the battle. The Leb soldiers who fired on Israel should get an air attack for their trouble (and it sounds like they probably did).

When you allow terrorists to freely operate in your country without fear of reprisal, the country as a whole becomes guilty. The cry of innocence has no real validity. Lebanon is responsible and the blood of their children is on their own hands. Bet you want hear this truth in the media!

"While there certainly are militia-members in the Iraqi Army, the problem is rather the Iraqi Police, and especially the Facility Protection Police... The Iraqi Army is largely reliable and trusted by the various factions..." Thanks for the clarification. I should have specified the forces under the control of the Interior Ministry and the police. According to most reports the Army is pretty clean.

There are reports that more than 80% of the Lebanese now support the Hez-Ebola attacks against Israel. The Ismalics see killing of jews-whatever the cost- as a wonderful thing and Hez-Ebola will now be bigger than Al-Qaeda in their support in Lebanon and the Palestinian territories.
If there is another election in Lebanon, Hez-Ebola really could win this thing. Of course the Lebanese government might just decide to join in.

Well, maybe...don't we (USA) consider the Lebanon Gov't as a "friend"...apparently a good house cleaning IS in order and the fact that Hizzies are a part of the gov't (which I didn't realize until recently) demonstrates that point.
No need to throw the baby out with the bathwater but if the Lebanese gov't is fully supportive of these actions they are complicit.
