SCOTUS picks, tax cuts and WOT. I'd say he's working out pretty good. Can't have everything.
Isn't it 16 losses. After all not only would you have to subtract 16 R's but also add 16 D's.
Exactly! However, as Ann Coulter says in her book, the liberal culture acts as a matter of faith. Their world view is a religion in in itself. Their only plan is that the world needs to change to their Utopian vision thing. One thing for certain, the world as they want it will not have Christian values as their basis.
Xacly. Totally unconditionally without reservation dittos agreed. Our founders wanted citizen government and so do I.
Yawn, but bookmarking to prove Queen pottymouth Anne wrong, in her defeatist DC bubble mentality.
Thanks for reminding us all that 30 and 40 years ago, Republicans were less likely to vote for that sort of thing.
Absolutely it will make a huge difference ... you want the liberal leftist democrats controlling the courts and what our military may or may not be allowed to do? Do you want the democrat leftist diverting our defense budget to all social programs and our military into UN workers? Do you want ... oh never mind, you're probably a libertarian or a democrat and only care about trashing the country to allow your indulgences. Do I want the pubbies to stop spending us into oblivion? Darn right I do, but I absolutely know there is no chance for such restraint with democrats running things I know that illegals will be raised to the status of a priviledged class to insure democrat voting victories far into the remaing future of the nation should the democraps take over again. And don't even throw crap out about there being no difference in my scenarios and what is happening now because that's just infantile foolishness.
"Bob Novack, not a an accurate source..."
I think he made the same prediction in 2004.
You are correct, the answer is term limits. We passed them in my state (Oklahoma) and things are working out great. Getting new blood in the legislation is a good thing, after a few years, people need to move on.
How's that "conservative" (GOP's election label for him) been working out?
LOL!! Are you a Patsy, or maybe a Keyster?
Bush has been comparable to Ronald Reagan in his foreign policy decisions, and has been greater than Reagan in standing up to terrorism.
Perhaps you would have preferred the truly pathological Al Gore or the perfumed prince John Kerry compromising with al-Qaeda?
Bush has worked out very well, even on most domestic policy issues.
Didn't we pass, a few years ago, a very large increase in the Medicare program?
Something about prescription drugs or some such?
It all comes down to a choice "between 2 evils". You may not like what Bush has been doing, but when you vote you hold your nose and see who can do the least damage. I would argue the Democrats would be a far greater risk.
the internal polling numbers must have been released yesterday or today.
I agree. Even though I am disappointed in the spending, I am not stupid enough to think it would be better under Democrats.
The last sentence of your post is the main point of the book "Politic$ Inc. - Principle, not profit: why we need statesmen, not career politicians," by John Cox, a conservative republican presidential candidate. He said that too many congressmen vote to increase spending, to buy votes, and that we shouldn't want a president who has voted to increase the federal debt. That's why we need an outsider for president. To learn more about him, please check his site, www.cox2008.com.
If she's wrong, she can laugh it off, knowing the Repubs beat the odds.
And if she's right, she'll be on every news channel, acting like a genius, while the left joyously celebrates their victory.
It's a win-win for Annie.
It wouldn't take too much to cause certain types of conservatives to stay home, especially if they convince themselves any differences between the parties (or their candidates) are so small as to not make it worth the effort to vote.
This may be why the Republicans are trotting out things such as the marriage amendment and the flag protection amendment. Some people need that sort of reassurance.
"Well she did spend 3 chapters in her latest book trying to prove that a belief in science makes one a God hating liberal.
That didn't exactly help the conservative cause."
You sure have been doing a lot of Coulter bashing in your ten day (signed up Jul 16, 2006) FR career.
Nice to see you helping "the cause" so much.
I don't think it will be a difficult 2 years. A republican controlled executive and legistative has done jack diddly squat these last few years except maybe prosecute the WOT in a most half ass manner.
Let the Dems take control of one or both houses and let Bush use that veto and maybe they won't be able to steal away more of my GOD given freedoms while they block each other out!
It is clearly evident that the Republican party totally dropped the ball and failed this time around.
