Would you say she is more of a lightweight than Gen. Alexander Haig (who was ready to take over the country when Reagan got shot)?

I need a few examples of "non-lightweights" in that job to be convinced that you have a point.

Kissinger made a lot of noise and his mumbling sounded educated because most of it was unintelligible. I need some names, from recent history, of your favorite "heavyweight" SOS's.

A Sec. of State should reflect a mirror image of the president's international views. Like it or not, that's the job description and does that....what more do you want?

Doh. I forgot Haig. And I didn't even mention a bunch that have more solid credentials but unremarkable nonetheless.

Not to over simplify here, but some people just don't get governmental "Good cop, bad cop."

I do know that George Schultz has a tiger tattooed on his backside. That ought to qualify me for some kind of triva prize. ; ).
