They are colluding with the terrorist groups, Iran, etc.

Absolutely, they have used the region for a long time. That aspect of the Cold War continues.

Annan asks to extend UNIFIL's mandate by 1 month

UN Secretary-General Kofi Annan asked the Security Council to extend by one month the mandate of the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon, which is set to expire at the end of the month.

Lebanon has asked to extend the UNIFIL's mandate by six months, but Annan answered that in light of the war, a return to a status quo does not seem likely. (AP)

Imad Mughniyeh was onboard the flight of terrorists we intercepted coming out of Egypt, and forced to land in Sigonella, Italy, after the hijacking of the Achille Lauro cruise ship, during which Leon Klinghoffer was shoved overboard in his wheelchair. So was Yassir Arafat.

It is likely that these two flew into Egypt after the hijacking, to escort their "troops" back home.

We had a perimeter around the aircraft at Sigonella, and made it clear to the Italians that we were prepared to defend that perimeter with military force.

However, the diplomats on both sides eventually assigned responsibility to the Italians, our guys packed up and went home, and the Italians let Arafat and Mughniyeh walk away, scott free.
