Can you imagine how safe you would feel surrounded like that by the US Military? I watch that landing craft being swallowed up into the ship and can only imagine the passengers thinking "Thank you God". Very emotional pictures.

I would be tempted to question the "American" label on this one, but just the other day I saw a woman, dressed just this way, driving next to me with a very large American Flag draped over her dashboard. Although it was backwards, not upside down though, a common mistake.

My son would laugh at me. He's on one of these. Amazing , some of the stuff we have.
I was impressed with them too – but being Army, we only went into the LSDs on training exercises. Anywhere we went we sailed on our own, this was from Hampton Roads to as far north as Maine and as far South as Puerto Rico and the Gulf Coast of Central America.
Bigoted? You'd better believe it! They have brought it upon themselves by their behavior, particularly their refusal to stand up and call for an end to terrorism.
I will never trust a Muslim because their "holy" book requires them to lie for the advancement of Islam.
All non-citizen Muslims should have been deported starting 9/12/01, and all mosques should have been under 24 hour surveillance ever since then.
That sort of bigotry is merely self preservation.

As an American, I appreciate the effort of the Lebanese military to protect our citizens and assist in the evacuation effort. I hope we can work with them in the future.
...and I must add that our Marines, Soldiers, Sailors and Airmen are some of the best international representatives we can ever hope for.

It's great to see people getting out alive, but I can't help but wonder - 25,000 Americans in a country they've been warned not to visit? Is there ever 25,000 Americans at any given moment in - say, oh - Jamaica? Call me crazy, but somethin' smells here.
