Kampmeier's previous feature called 'Virgin' was about a girl who had no memory of having sex and decided her pregnancy was the child of God.
Rape as entertainment and a vehicle to an award. Where do you even begin to list what's wrong here......

War of the Worlds was insufferable: Tom Cruise, the storyline, everything!
Appears the parents are looking at the money jackpot for themselves, zero concern for the mental well being of this girl. She'll grow up a mess, likely broke by then, probably sue her parents and on and on. Why is this not child abuse? Art? Oh yeah sure.
She looks like a young Jodie Foster.

Little known fact. The director had to dig a trench for Tom Cruise to walk in for certain scenes while playing opposite Fanning. The same was done for Alan Ladd playing opposite Jean Arthur in Shane.

I don't know where you got that idea from my statement. I was referring to the nudity.
Are images of a nude or nearly nude child portraying rape, child porn? If it was done by an individual and released on the internet it would be investigated and prosecuted by the FBI, I guarantee you that. But apparently if you pay the child or their guardian millions of dollars to do it, it's ok.
Not mounting a defense of child porn or images of children used for perverse reasons, I'm just pointing out one more discrepency in our government's view of equal rights.
The summary is above is just a summary. You don't have to show a nude child to depict what's described.
The film is in deep financial trouble. It may never get finished or released.
Rather what a screenplay calls for can be merely 'suggested'.
