Tesla's tragedy and Croatia
The Washington Times, Letter to the Editor ^ | July 19, 2006 | Michael Pravica

Posted on 07/19/2006 2:05:20 PM PDT by FormerLib

Nikola Tesla was one of the world's greatest minds, yet one of the most forgotten and unappreciated ("Tesla's memory a healing force," World, Sunday). With his myriad inventions (including radio, fluorescent lighting, radar, X-ray technology, alternating current and remote-controlled devices), this single genius literally gave us the 20th century.

There is not a human being who has not been impacted by his inventions. Tragically, Mr. Tesla's ancestral country, Yugoslavia, was bombed using the very technology that he had made possible.

Because of Mr. Tesla's Serbian ethnicity, the Orthodox Church where his father served as a priest and his childhood home were destroyed by the Croatian Ustashe during World War II and damaged during the recent civil war in Croatia.

I visited his hometown, Smiljan, in 1988. Recognizing, celebrating and appreciating Mr. Tesla's contributions to all humanity despite his Serbian Orthodox ethnicity would be a positive step forward for Croatia.

However, until Croatia fully welcomes back and safeguards its Serbian minority, hundreds of thousands of whom are still languishing as refugees, ethnically cleansed from their ancestral homelands in Croatia, efforts to claim Mr. Tesla as "Croatia's greatest son" will ring hollow.

I hadn't realized Croatia was attempting to claim Tesla as their own. Perhaps if they repeat it enough...

Tesla was a freaking bizzare guy.

Brilliant yes... but I think the fried his own brain thinking too hard.

Didn't he claim that all kinds of inventions he made were given to him by aliens that he would communicate with?

And who can forget all of the bizzare ghost stories about the doomsday weapon he created that used earth's natual magnetic field to cause earthquakes and shoot bolts of lighting all over the place. (conspiracy is that HAARP is somehow a child of that technology)

Lots of fun conspiracy theories about that guy on the net... interesting stuff for science geeks.

Tesla lived in Colorado Springs for a while. A street and school named for him.

"his childhood home were destroyed by the Croatian Ustashe during World War II and damaged during the recent civil war in Croatia".

"Fortunately they were only damaged after being destroyed."

You have a point, so I forwarded the link to Michael Pravica and below is what he said:

"In response to one of the posts, his (Tesla's) home was rebuilt after being destroyed in WWII and then damaged in the recent war. I should have clarified that in the letter.

Where did you get that nonsense?

He did create lightning bolts and send current at a distance although he burned out the generator upstream at the power plant and went up and rewound it for them.

"Yes, I loved that pigeon, I loved her as a man loves a woman, and she loved me. When she was ill I knew, and understood; she came to my room and I stayed beside her for days. I nursed her back to health. That pigeon was the joy of my life. If she needed me, nothing else mattered. As long as I had her, there was a purpose in my life. ...

"When that pigeon died, something went out of my life. Up to that time I knew with a certainty that I would complete my work, no matter how ambitious my program, but when that something went out of my life I knew my life's work was finished."

"Nikola Tesla was one of the world's greatest minds, yet one of the most forgotten and unappreciated "

What a bunch of maroons on this .

Hello ! Anyone home? Tesla is the man that invented AC power that allowed for the world as we know it.

Distribution of DC power becanme impossible over short distances and the inspiration to conceive polyphase AC was nothing short of genius.

And did I mention Radio which he also invented?

In the Law of One Interviews, Ra was asked;

So I will ask you where Nikola Tesla got his information?

Ra answered;

I am Ra. The one known as Nikola received information from Confederation sources desirous of aiding this extremely, shall we say, angelically positive entity in bettering the existence of its fellow mind/body/spirit complexes. It is unfortunate, shall we say, that like many Wanderers the vibratory distortions of third-density illusion caused this entity to become extremely distorted in its perceptions of its fellow mind/body/spirit complexes so that its mission was hindered and in the result, perverted from its purposes.

He brought us lighting and power.

Can anyone tell me how far DC travels with efficiency. I am trying to rig a small water wheel within 100-150 feet of my country cabin. What size wire?
