David Sharp is the one I was thinking of.
My guess is Lincoln Hall is the one you mention.

For God's sake get the punk back in time for his fashion design classes.

Sadly, you're probably right.

An interesting comparison is with the "Miracle of the Little Ships" at Dunkirk in 1940. It took 4 days to begin the evacuation, and 9 more to complete it. Thirteen days in all; and that was (rightly) called a miracle.

I am pretty curious too as to the allegiances of these "Americans" we are evacuating out of Lebanon...

"There are dual citizens, which makes me question their loyalty."

Is that a distrust of dual citizens in general, or just the Lebanon/American ones?

I guess Nancy forgot she sign a law that required the US Gov. to charge people for their evacuation.

Hey, any opportunity to make a cheap and disingenuous political point. Since the MSM doesn't hold Democrats to any level of honesty, she's free to make things up as she goes.

"Wasn't there a poll that showed a huge majority of Americans in Lebanon are sympathetic to Hezbullah?"

A family of four, father, mother and two small children, all American citizens and fellow parishioners at our Greek Orthodox parish who are stuck there certainly aren't (nor are any of the other Lebanese in our parish!).

Americans are comparing what other countries are doing and have done to get their citizens out. But none of these other countries have as many people trapped over there, and frankly, no other country makes such a tempting target. (How many Swiss, for instance?) Small harbor area, you have to get in line -- looks like one boat at a time. Of course, the really smart people wouldn't have gone over there in the first place. Vacation in Lebanon? Going to school/college in Lebanon? Why?

CNN just read some emails from people "stuck near the Syrian border" wondering when the Marines would come get them.

So, what was his exit strategy PRE-WAR to leaving Lebanon to go back to college by September 6th?

I don't know about you, but whenever I'm in a place or situation which might be the slightest bit dangerous I keep my eye on the exits. Don't cry for me Hezballina.

It's obviously not Bush's fault, but it is some beaurocrat(s)' fault that the French managed to get theirs out long before we could. This will become another huge embarrassment for Bush regardless of what flunkie in Beiruit was supposed to handle it.

According to Debbie Schlussel, most Americans in Lebanon Are Hezbollah Supporters; U.S. Taxes Shouldn't Fund Their Return.

One thing is lost in all the press coverage of the whining Americans who went to Lebanon of their own accord and now want us to pick up the tab to get them out.

THE MAJORITY OF AMERICANS IN LEBANON ARE HEZBOLLAH SUPPORTERS.

Most of them are Shi'ite Muslims, many of whom hold dual U.S. and Lebanese citizenship. Many are anchor babies born here to Muslims in the U.S. illegally. Some are illegal aliens who became citizens through rubber-stamping Citizenship and Immigration Services (and its INS predecessor) coupled with political pressure by spineless politicians.

Of the 25,000 American citizens and green-card holders in Lebanon, at least 7,000 are from Dearborn, Michigan, the heart of Islamic America, and especially Shia Islam America. These 7,000 are mostly Shi'ite Muslims who openly and strongly support Hezbollah. Ditto for many of the rest of the 25,000 that are there.

>A cruise ship [ * ] sailed into Beirut late Tuesday to begin shuttling thousands of Americans to safety

"Okay, folks, I've got
good news and bad news. We will
get you out of here.

[coughs] But you're gonna
have to get on board and sail
one of these cruise ships . . ."

-------------------------------------------------

* In an instant, passengers aboard The Crown Princess cruise ship went from sunbathing to clutching whatever they could as the massive ship rolled heavily to its side, throwing everything not nailed down against the deck and walls. "Another 20 degrees and I would have been in the water," said Alfred Caproni

I just saw a college nitwit on CNN Headline News complain about America's response.

they'll be indignant as heck. They are well practiced at this emotion.

That seems to be a Muslim trait. It cracks me up that the Islamists' big complaint about the "Crusaders" is that they're "humiliating" the poor Jihadists.

...you wouldn't do such a thing as complain when faced with lousy service that you had already paid for as a taxpayer.

Say what? You honestly believe these morons have been paying taxes?
Even if they were the U.S. shouldn't have to keep pulling these fools
out of hotspots they were warned not to go to in the first place.

The U.S. Navy doesn't have enough ships to float off the
coasts of every trouble spot these idiots blissfully wander into.
