Clowns are definitely one of the dead end paths of Western Civilization.

Huh? Your reference is obscure to me. Gacy was a serial killer--what does that have to do with clowns?
His job was clown for hire.

They spoke of his mood swings and how he tried to trick them into handcuffs, using
magic tricks that he perfected as "Pogo the Clown".

Is it your contention that those who fear clowns are reacting to Gacy? Or did you have some other point? What was your point in responding to my expressed ignorance of clown-phobia with a reference to Gacy?
You asked for the connection between Gacy and clowns, I responded.
Clowns have been used as a theme for good and evil. Even from outer space ("Killer Klowns").
I don't know, maybe the few that have the irrational fear are okay to make fun of.

Clowns always gave me the willies, too. Maybe because of their exaggerated features. They look demonic.
Why?
