Why would her name have to be cleared. Are you suggesting that if it hadn't been cleared well then, she should have been murdered?

Are you suggesting that if it hadn't been cleared well then, she should have been murdered? I don't know how you could have inferred that from my post. The police investigation was undertaken at the request of her family because the IRA had attempted to justify murdering her by smearing her as an informer, an accusation which also stigmatised her children. I hope that the results of the investigation give her family some closure after decades of trauma. That was what I meant.

Thanks so much for explaining. I was not familiar with the case. The only case I was even vaguely aware of was when the sisters came to America to talk about their brother being murdered in the ally of a pub.
Just all the years of reading about bombs in London, killing innocent civilians just made me sick.
One time my daughter's class was on a trip to London and they had to evacuate the tube.....when she asked the police officer what was wrong he told them that the IRA had reported they planted a bomb.
How could any thinking civilized person support those tactics?
