This is not a guard. This is a freaking uniformed metrosexual weakling. If Axel Rose can kick your butt, you don't need to be a guard.

The point a lot of people missed:

If it's Joe "Bubba" Axel, then the ribbing this security guard got would have been justified.

Unfortunately for him, this was Axl Rose. If Henry Winkler suddenly came up to you and began walloping you, you'd be flat on your feet/back too for a moment or two as your mind is still stunned by the fact that a celebrity just attacked you. Regardless of whether its Stallone or Britney Spears, you may lose focus and, yes, even your footing.

Once you have regain composure and the element of surprise is gone from the adversary, you have to make a concious decision: fight or flight.

Most of us will probably opt for fight but it is not unreasonable to choose flight. And here is why:

The celeb's body guard would join in the fray.

There are career consequences. Your company, especially if it deals with security, protection, or showbiz would not be too happy about you attacking a star regardless of self-defense protestations.

In court, it is the word of you, lowly, insignificant person against Mr/Ms Superstar. Even if the court agrees that you have more credibility, for PR purposes they might be more than willing to sacrifice you for the star.

And of course, the undying enmity of fans and fanatics.

This man is put in a truly bad situation; the classical d@mned if you do and d@mned if you don't. If he fights back, he would likely get pummeled by bodyguards, get fired (security guards aren't suppose to pummel the people they were meant to protect, esp celebrities), courts may rule against him, and total strangers will harass him everywhere he goes.

No wonder he opted for the alternative. But now he's being mocked as a wuss and may still not get justice if the court decided it's not worth troubling Axl over.

I hope they both get their just rewards. Enough of this rules for the elite and rules for the peon BS. It's time us peons get our due.
