to their credit, both Napolitano and Megyn Kendall have been predicting this decision for about a week now. they had it spot on. I posted to some other freepers that this was coming.
some of them will be sent back, we sent 14 back to saudi arabia last week. but we can't do that with all of them.
and what about the ones the CIA is holding at foreign prisons, the top AQ people, will the SCOTUS grant them due process also? geneva protection?
the government had to switch Padilla to a different set of charges for the same reason - the FBI/CIA isn't going to declassify the information needed to provide him a civilian trial as the dirty bomber.
Let there be no doubt; I think the decision stinks. But the upside does exist. Republicans can force the Dems to pander to the kook base or alienate them. If they pander (and I think they will) it will kill them at the polls.

TP8, see post 40.
We're with you, Tiger.
"The process has been on hold, however, since three detainees committed suicide June 10."
Simply an outright lie from the AP.
Thank you, Dita. Feeling as I do on the border/immigration issue I kind of choke when I think about supporting and defending the Pubbies in general. But in spite of that I want the Dems to go down in flames in Nov. (I feel pretty strongly that they will.) But win or lose I intend to give any and every politician who is the least bit soft on borders and illegals as much heartburn as I can.
