Appeal For 'Free Cash' Updated: 17:28, Thursday June 22, 2006 Police are appealing to pedestrians to hand back the thousands of pounds they pocketed when a mystery man threw a bundle of cash into a busy town centre. People fell to their hands and knees to scoop up the £20 notes when the man released the cash with the worlds: "Who wants free money?" Police believe around £5,000 was literally sent blowing in the wind in Aberystwyth by the unknown benefactor, a 40-year-old man. He drove off and was later arrested for driving offences at nearby Aberaeron. A Dyfed Powys Police investigation to establish the source of the cash is continuing. Officers acknowledge that it is neither a criminal offence to throw money away, nor illegal to pick it up. But they appealed for anyone who pocketed any of the cash to hand it in. It is unknown whether those who hand in cash have the right to reclaim it, if it is found to have been legally obtained. Town businessman John Morris saw the give-away and caught what he called "bedlam" on his CCTV system. "I just couldn't believe my eyes. People were shocked and just couldn't believe it," he said.:

Ok, then find out if it was ill-gotten money first, then I'll turn it back in - not the other way around.

If the money was his to give away, and there's nothing illegal about taking it, on what basis are the authorities requesting that the money be returned?
Wait, let me guess. It's the old "He must be crazy or he wouldn't have given all that money away, so we need to get the money back so he can pay his lawyers to sue the people who picked up the cash, thereby taking advantage of his impaired mental state" trick.

For the same reason the police asked all those Brits to turn in perfectly legal knives a few weeks ago. And they did.

Despite the best attempts of the UK rozzers, agere_contra is still packing. How many of the boys-in-blue will he take down before they get his breadknife and end his murderous reign of terror?

You own a deadly looking assault bread knife, no doubt. What you need is a high powered sniper rifle:
