It's hard to believe. I guess Granholm must be driving even the liberals out of the State now.

Yes Yes YES! Want to win this one bad.

Dick DeVos is running great TV ads here. The big deal around here was the Dems where mad at Granholm for not running any ads at all. DeVos got the jump on her and it is paying off for him.

curious.....is Richard Devos, one of the founders of Amway?

All I can say is, it must really hurt to lose a big election to a candidate named "Jennifer."

Dick is the son of Amway's founder, yes. He's talking the good talk on business and MI economy, though.

"Michigan's Single Business Tax is a job-killer tax. No other state in the country has this tax, and businesses in Michigan and outside of Michigan know it. I call it a "stick out tax" because job providers realize that it makes us stick out, makes us obviously less competitive, and makes it harder to create jobs. I've traveled to all of our 83 counties and have heard from small business leaders and laid off workers, they know that this tax is hurting us, it is hurting families, it is a big part of the layoffs. Amazingly, our political leaders just don't get it. They know this tax is causing us to lose jobs, and causing us to lose opportunities, and yet they don't know what to do. They talk about various schemes to reduce this tax or gradually eliminate it over 4 or 6 or even 10 years. They should read the papers. Michigan is in big trouble. We must have leaders who will take decisive action. We don't have time to wait. This tax must go. Now." http://www.devosforgovernor.com/Issues/Detail.aspx?ID=1

Things are looking up for DeVos. But remember the MSM has not kicked in for Granholm yet. This won't last much longer. They are posed to attack.

I'll tell 10 friends and they tell 10 friends etc and pretty soon every body is voting for Dick.
You don't need to retail, just buy from yourself and retire in 2 - 5 years.

What'd he say? It's gone. What'd he say?!

Michigan is running a promotional ad in Missouri, the basis of which is, "Hey, businessman, come to Michigan and start your business here. The state is beautiful and the people are friendly. Come to Michigan, you'll love it."
I grew up in Michigan. The rest of my family still lives there. When I heard this ad, I laughed out loud!
(I just hope and pray that potential businessmen do their homework before they believe this tripe and move!)

I actually know Dick DeVos. He used to sit behind me in public school. He graduated from a public high school. The family didn't start out rich. They cooked up soap in their basement/garage. I think it was the early 60s when they finally got out of the house and got a factory. Those kids and the VanAndels swept floors and weeded. The whole family are the nicest people you ever want to meet.
