Illegal Immigrants Free To Go
WTOV ^ | 6/21/06 | Mikey_1962

Posted on 06/21/2006 6:51:53 AM PDT by Mikey_1962

Local police said they intercepted 20 illegal Mexican immigrants, but were ordered by immigration officials to let them go free.

Belmont County Sheriff Fred Thompson said his officers were instructed by federal immigration services to let all 20 illegal immigrants go free, and said his department has no choice but to follow the orders from immigration officials.

Thompson said officers stopped a van at 3 a.m. Tuesday which was traveling the wrong direction on Interstate 470 in St. Clairsville.

The officer discovered 20 illegal Mexican immigrants inside the van, including three who were previously deported. The officer immediately contacted immigration officials, who told him to let all 20 immigrants go.

"Once we find out they are illegals, it's like pat them on the back of the head and tell them, 'Go on down the road; you'll probably get stopped again,'" Thompson said.

The immigrants told the officer they were traveling through Ohio to obtain work in Manassas, Va.

Calls to Citizenship and Immigration Services as well as Immigration and Customs Enforcement have not been returned.

Can some one point me to the part of the Constitution that makes state law enforcement subservient to federal law enforcement. We need smarter sheriffs along with a new President (who will make immigration reform a priority and crack heads down in the INS to stop this nonsense).

Perhaps the dog and pony show is over and it's time to get back to business as usual: catch and release.

Wonder if the driver got a ticket for driving the wrong way on an expressway?Need to bang on the INS big time. They don't do their job? They get fired?

Congress doesn't do their job? They get fired!

Happens daily, this does. It's SOP. I don't know why anyone's surprised.

First off, it's a federal offense. Second, it's not even classed as a misdemeanor. Third, there aren't enought federal officers in the whole country to take custody of all the illegals detained by local authorities, so, they just tell the locals to release them.

This has been going on for years.

This report is bad enough.
But, if what one law enforcement officer from Pennsylvania related is true,
"some illegals are more equal than others".
To sum up, the officer said on O'Reilly that the ICE office in
Philadelphia told him to cut loose detained illegals if
1. They are Mexican
AND
2. They have no outstanding warrants.

I guess if you are a non-Mexican illegal, it's off to the deportation hearing
even if you've got no warrants.

I guess Vicente Fox is only worried about illegals' rights...for Mexicans!

ordered by immigration officials to let them go free

Those who though the WH had finally awakened should take note.

The recent 'round ups' are going to be little different than the headliner round up a couple of months ago. Most of those detainees were kept just long enough for the headline of their detention, then most of them were released.

Folks, if you don't understand by now, you never will understand. Citizenship and Immigration Services, Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) do not work for the American people. No tax dollars from Americans will cause these folks to do what is best for America. May as well abolish Citizenship and Immigration Services, Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) for they do not work for America or Americans. They work for the illegals, and I have seen nothing that would change my mind about Citizenship and Immigration Services, Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). Our tax dollars at work helping illegals be illegals. In reality it is call 'aiding and abetting in the commission of a crime' but we are simply citizens we can't arrest these people.

At the absolute very least, even given the current realities, the driver of the van should have been arrested and charged for driving the wrong way on the highway. Anything above a minor misdemeanor (i.e, your typical speeding ticket) is arrestable. Then the driver would have been subject to a bond hearing. Then, if he posts bond and flees, there's the stinking revenue.

Oh, and one class of aliens that we do deport (in fact it's about the only kind) is criminal aliens. These are aliens, whether illegal or on a visa, who commit state or federal crimes (other than the original illegal entry).

Our leaders have / and will continue to get away with it. We aren't in the streets demanding something be done. Regrettably, our leaders only respond when there is massive amounts of people in the streets demanding something be done. Look at how the Senate responded to the illegals in the street. As soon as the next election is over, I'm predicting the House will fold, and the Senate will get nearly everything in their bill. Until we Americans take to the streets, we can forget our leaders listening.

I guess this has been, and will be, the de facto amnesty since they didn't get their bill passed. This needs to be followed up by someone nationally (Rush, Sean, etc.) and put some officials on the hot seat. Until these things start getting publicized widely and people in charge have to give real answers it's going to keep happening. Immigration officials giving the old "not available for comment" routine is not going to cut it.

Where is the gov't of Mehico?

According to a CNN report, Mexico sits on oil reserves worth about $400 billion, but Mexico's state-owned oil company, Pemex, doesn't have the investment funds to tap those reserves, and Mexico's Congress refuses to allow foreign investment in Pemex. However, some observers say this is due to Mexican gov't corruption, and the obsession to line their own pockets.

Adding insult to injury American taxpayers are subsidizing foreign aid transfers to Mexico. According to Visa International--which is now clamoring for a share of the transfer fees--American money sent South of the Border by illegals constitutes $38 BILLION this year alone constituting Mexico's second largest most profitable industry.

Mexico is a wealthy oil-producing neighbor of the US forces its poor people to flee to the US to work and then send money back home. Mexico has no welfare safety nets, health insurance for its people and no Social Security System.

The US even provides the defense umbrella to protect Mexico, so they have no real defense expenses.

America needs to seal our borders and let Vicente Fox know that we will cut off every penny in aid he gets from the United States. The government of Mexico---with all of its oil revenue----needs to be taking care of its own people, not "outsourcing' them as wards of American taxpayers.

"...The government of Mexico---with all of its oil revenue----needs to be taking care of its own people, not "outsourcing' them as wards of American taxpayers."

Unfortunately, taking care of Mexico -- as well as the rest of the third world -- has been designated as our raison d'etre by the UN.

The plan for global socialism is proceeding apace. I don't remember the name of the document,(Agenda 21?) but there is one that states this very idea. It appears that we are starting to see this idea put into regular practice. How else can one explain the government's persistently refusing to listen to the will of the people on this issue? I can't think of another besides our falling into line with the UN's wishes.

You see, the UN has determined that it's not fair that we have all this wealth, therefore it's our "responsibility" to sacrifice ourselves for the Little Brown Ones. (which is an insult to the LBW's IMO), and equalize our standard of living to something a beady-eyed bureaucrat at the UN thinks we deserve. t tell the truth, I fear we're about to have a New Feudalism shoved down our throats where our self-styled rulers (call them the new royalty, if you like), will have all the wealth and privilege -- as in Mexico -- and the remainder of us will be equally miserable.

Sure do hope I'm wrong...

Your assessment is valid. The UN is certainly part of the equation---but as the issue progresses, we see evidence of the hidden agendas of reconqsuita groups and the Mexican govt and Central And South American governments themselves colluding to inflict this illegal problem on the US.

At the recent street protests we heard the shouts and saw the signage that threatened a US takeover by the vote, even by violence, if necessary.

The invaders recognize no legitimate authority, break our laws at will, and survive by the law of the jungle.

The bring their banana republic predator tactics to America. Left unchallenged, they would turn the US into a Third World country.

"The bring their banana republic predator tactics to America. Left unchallenged, they would turn the US into a Third World country."

Exactly. I think these goals are interrelated, even though the two parties (UN and Reconquista) may not be aware of it. Again, third-world status for all!

There was a post on FR not long ago that told the story of a former diplomatic employee's experience while posted in Mexico. He said that the Mexicans he knew while working there "...think the southwest United States is really part of Mexico. They believe this with all their heart." He went on to say that he actually saw a map of Mexico in a school there that had the Mexican border near the panhandle of Alaska!

My guess is, the US will become bilingual in much the same way as Canada is now. There will be much larger areas where one won't be able to function without a working knowledge of Spanish. Eventualy, I fear, all Americans will have to be bilingual (except many Latinos)

There is one small note of encouragement, however. In (of all places) the L.A. school district, I have personal experience with a few hundred second-graders who are children of likely illegals, who speak English quite well, and behave as children did when I was in grade school decades ago. At this same school, I also saw a poster displayed prominently in the school's main hallway that had a hand-lettered preamble to the US Constitution on it -- and it was signed by every fifth-grader in the school!

All of this demonstrates the mindset of invasion rather than immigration-----and The Plan by illegals to overthrow the US government. Here's what we have to look forward to:

Reconquista Armando Navarro 'Ethnic Studies' Professor at the University of California, Riverside Anti-American, Fifth-Column Menace. "Ladies and Gentlemen, what this means (the US Senate amnesty bill) is a transfer of power, it means control, and it is the young people, the people who are now moving to develop an agenda for the twenty first century they are going to be in a position to really make the promise of what the Chicano movement was all about in terms of self-determination, in terms of empowerment, even in the terms of an Aztlan...."

We must ensure that every illegal immigrant we catch crossing our southern border is returned home. More than 85 percent of the illegal immigrants we catch crossing the southern border are Mexicans, and most are sent back home within 24 hours. But when we catch illegal immigrants from other country [sic] it is not as easy to send them home. For many years, the government did not have enough space in our detention facilities to hold them while the legal process unfolded. So most were released back into our society and asked to return for a court date. When the date arrived, the vast majority did not show up. This practice, called "catch and release," is unacceptable, and we will end it.
