Heard on Fox that Pentagon sources have concluded there was no cover up in Haditha contrary to Murtha's claim. Still waiting on web posting or something. Last I heard is that relatives have refused to allow the bodies to be exhumed which combined with no cover up, if true, would make it near impossible for the Marines to be charged with murder. If the military thought murder charges were going to be brought they would confine the Marines pending court martial.

The "sting" was Murtha's own stupidity, hatred of President Bush, contempt for the Marine Corps and his desire to win a position of power after disgracing the Bush administration...

There are some, like myself, who believe a strong motive for his traitorous behavior is to be able to claim he is targeted only for his anti-war status, when the corruption investigation get close enough to his ass..
