No Haditha Cover Up. (Vanity, can't confirm yet)

Heard on Fox that Pentagon sources have concluded there was no cover up in Haditha contrary to Murtha's claim. Still waiting on web posting or something. Last I heard is that relatives have refused to allow the bodies to be exhumed which combined with no cover up, if true, would make it near impossible for the Marines to be charged with murder. If the military thought murder charges were going to be brought they would confine the Marines pending court martial.

Thank you. From the LA Times I would expect some play with the title words but this shoots down one of Murtha's allegations.

What does "no cover up" mean? That the Marines killed a bunch of civvies but did not lie about it, or that the whole story was crap [my guess], or something else?

If this is true, can these fine marines sue the p.o.s. for slander, etc? A civil suit? Is there a FReeper lawyer around?
Maybe someone should announce on TV a rumour they heard about Murtha's wife or kids. But it's true, I know it is!

There was two parts, the alleged "murders" and the "cover up". This whole thing was a terrorist and some human rights group set up of our troops.

If this is true, can these fine marines sue the p.o.s. for slander, etc? How about suing Time and Newsweek for their cover stories. Tonight on FoxNews Mort Kondrake said something about the Haditha newspaper accounts. When challenged as to his source, he said, "What else do we have to rely on?" Rely on!!! Mort, haven't you learned yet that the NYT, WaPo, etc. have no reliability?
To: Freee-dame
The whole source of this crap was one discredited human rights activist that even the human rights groups don't want to claim because he's so bad at the set up.

This article from the LA Times is dated June 17th, 3 days ago and this is the first I'm hearing it!
Wasn't Murtha on 'This Week; Sunday, 2 days ago claiming 'there had to have been a cover up, no doubt about it'?
Have I been asleep at the wheel? The fact that there was no cover-up was reported SATURDAY and this is the first I'm hearing of that finding.
To: blogblogginaway
The fact that there was no cover-up was reported SATURDAY and this is the first I'm hearing of that finding.Same here. Probably was reported on Saturday because no one is supposed to be paying attention that day.

See post 15. Murtha, in addition to looking like a disloyal !@#$, really looks like a blubbering idiot if you look at all the contradictions between what he says and the fact that unfold.
To: blogblogginaway
The Visual Media has purposely avoided it at least through Sunday so they won't have to call Murtha a liar while he made his Sunday rounds.

This is good news, but don't get overjoyed just yet: it doesn't mean nothing happened. It means the Marines INVESTIGATED it like they were supposed to. The actual "incident" investigation is separate from the "coverup" investigation.

Well if this doesn't beat all. A 'no cover-up' finding known for 3 days and one outlet has reported on it. Isn't that all we heard over and over and over again? An accusation of 'COVER-UP"??? The MSM couldn't WAIT to get Murtha on to scream COVER-UP COVER-UP!!!!
How blatantly obvious can the MSM be? Giving a traitor like Murtha air time to make his allegations against our finest fighting to protect us all and ignoring the fact that Murtha was WRONG!
May they all ro........, well nevermind.
To: txrangerette
Has been explained before, but the shackeled Marines were in another pending case, not Haditha. Good to hear...there are reports out there saying Haditha Marines were shackeled.
And the father of one of THEM says they are now unshackled but still held.
Is this the other case that Marines were shackeled in? And what case is that?

Murtha claims that he was told by the 'military', which is often repeated by liberal hacks like Alan Colmbs (FOX News)? Why won't anyone ask Mr Murtha and Mr Colmbs who in the 'military' passed that information along to Murtha? If Mr Murtha was, in fact, told by someone from the 'military' that cold blooded murder was committed, then that someone must have a name? An establishment, such as the 'military' cannot tell Mr Murtha jack-$hit, however a person from the military could have. Who is that person????????????? I'm waiting Mr Murtha! And I'm waiting Mr Colmbs!

"I'm inclined to believe that Murtha fell for a "sting" of sorts." The "sting" was Murtha's own stupidity, hatred of President Bush, contempt for the Marine Corps and his desire to win a position of power after disgracing the Bush administration...
There are some, like myself, who believe a strong motive for his traitorous behavior is to be able to claim he is targeted only for his anti-war status, when the corruption investigation get close enough to his ass..

I agree and if there was a real crime committed then those responsible should suffer the consequences but "no cover up" shows that if crimes were committed the buck stops there.

If the military had even a small idea that a crime, especially murder, had taken place then the troops would have been at least confined to base at stateside.
