Ward Churchill, the professor who called some of the World Trade Center victims “little Eichmanns,” should be fired because of “repeated and deliberate” infractions of scholarship rules, a University of Colorado committee said today.
The recommendation, which came on a 6-3 vote, now goes to university officials for a final decision.
Nope. They are nailing him for plagairism and for publishing conclusions without sufficient scholarly evidence to back it up. Entirely appropriate for a university. His political opinions don't enter into it.
With a day like this, I'm waiting to hear the Mirecki has been arrested for making false claims to the police.
The committee's recommendation will give the university officials plenty of "CYA" cover, so they won't have to take any flack for canning him.
Imagine Ward Churchill having to look for an actual job. All this time he has pictured himself as a Fabio wannabe, maybe he'll go into pimping. Oh, wait a minute, he has experience in that field.
It's a bad, bad, BAD week to be a liberal! Zarqawi killed, Kennedy cops a plea, Rove gets away, and now this. What else could go wrong?!?
That's about the only thing that can cause the dismissal of a tenured professor.

The real question is, who is going to take responsibility for hiring him in the first place? He didn't anything near the credentials to teach.
It's about time. Once he's let go and his tenure is revoked, someone should show him the door at the border, since he hates America so much we should actively and aggressively show him OUT.

Ah, and there is the crux to me. My view, as a lay person, "I think tenure should be abolished".
Berkley may give him a job, nevertheless, this an advancement for all those that have been working to fight back against these liberal professors in the classrooms.

Since he says he is an "indian", he should receive an ethnicly correct punishment as part of his dismissal.
He should be stripped naked and forced to run the gauntlet through campus on his way out.
I hear the Dixie Chicks will have to cancel up to half their tour dates... :-)
It's academia. They study everything to death. Committees are taken VERY seriously.
