I did a search of too fat, looking for the post about people being too fat for xray machines. This was the next thread and it looked interesting. I read every post in this thread Only after my first post did I notice the dates of the others.

Were you listening to Rush today?

Unfortunately no. What did he say?

"My parents even made their own tomato sauce every summer (about 50 mason jars worth) and canned vegetables, made jams and jellies, etc.."You obviously realize how fortunate you were to grow up in a home that valued good food! For the past three weeks I have worked 8-12 hours a day canning. I think we now officially have 'pickles coming out of our ears'. Made tomato sauce for the first time last week and was amazed at how good it can be, but gosh is it time consuming! Have been making jams, jelly and preserves out of everything imaginable, from peppers and tomatoes ... to figs and blackberries. My SIL keeps giving me tips on short-cuts and time-savings, but they are always things that cut the quality of the final product, IMHO.

These 3 generations (Boomers, X, Millenials) seem to take no responsibility for how they are killing their kids.
In my day we ran and played all day. After an hour or so of TV, Mom would say "go outside and play." And we did.
There was no talk about "obesity epidemics."
And of course, the standard response is "you don't know how hard it is to raise kids."
My answer: Every generation until these did so without putting them on the fast track to death.

Next they'll be searching lunch bags and throwing out contraband cupcakes!
Too late...Brownsmill Elementary School (in Lithonia, Georgia) started doing that in 2004...the communist principal named Yvonne Sanders-Butler even enlisted school bus drivers in her Food Gestapo and had the school bus drivers confiscating sugary snacks on the frickin' school bus. Damn communist c***.

I think sedentary activities (Xbox and internet) are more to blame.

Here's another typical "pot and kettle" situation. May I present Kelly Brownell, father of the "Twinkie Tax"?
How's THAT for pot and kettle?
