The young men charged with plotting terrorist attacks against Canadian targets were allegedly planning two separate strikes one to detonate a truck bomb to destroy a significant building and the other to open fire on a crowd in a public place

After a swift and fair trial, they should be hung in the public square!!!!!

The good news there is that it would take a helluva lot more than three tonnes to bring it down. The bad news is that there are usually big crowds at the base and a lot of telecom infrastructure in the pod near the top.

The CN Tower would be a very difficult target if the object was to bring it down. Terrorism objectives could be achieved if an explosive was set off in the observation deck or the revolving restaurant but that would take plastique and a suicide vest, not a fertilizer bomb.

The real target for a truck bomb at the tower would be the CSIS offices at the base of the tower.

A better target would be the Skydome which is shown in your picture just ahead of the tower. A truck bomb on the street or in the parking garage during a sporting event would have very dramatic results. However, I am sure that the Toronto Police and CSIS are aware of this possibility.

Blam, I'm with you except why deport their families so that they can carry on the war against us from some other country? I say they should open a camp similar to Guantanamo and put their families in it. The Canadians are harboring the sister of one of the men arrested. They previously took her hard drive and other materials which she claims are not hers. It looks as though they have plenty on her to arrest her. And yet, she was at the court this morning trying to talk to her brother. Enough is enough! Put them in jail. And to hell with the National Red Cross.

The more pressing question is how any or all of the 5 'young offenders' will ultimately be tried:

Hopefully, as our laws certainly allow for same, the whole lot will be tried together as adults but, we'll just see since every left-wing Islamofascist apologist in the nation will doubtless be demanding otherwise.

At least - for now - they're all off the streets and, if any Judge foolishly grants any of these vermin bail, doing so it will very nicely fan the flames of anti Judicial activism & related non-acountability to the public which, as of yet, aren't quite blazing at Stateside levels.

Interesting you mention Parrish since living very near her home base, I've long followed her very closely.

Prior to our 2004 general election, her electoral district disappeared via redistribution & she was compelled to compete for a Liberal nomination against Steve Mahoney; another then sitting Liberal MP in the same boat.

Eventually, Parrish narrowly beat him out by less than 200 votes out of over 4,000 cast.

Her margin of victory resulted from bus loads of 'instant Liberals' trucked in from the very same Mosque mentioned in many of these 'terror bust' articles !!!

I spent about half an hour last night attempting to document a direct written link and/or picture tying her personally to any of the busted terrorists and haven't given up by any means!

Deportation only shifts the problem elsewhere and is too good for them. I think if jihadists knew that they were sacraficing their families, as well as themselves, they'd be less inclined to become homicide bombers and terrorists.
